Anyone know what could do this. I have a black mesh around it but at night something comes.
They make some motion detector units that you hook up to a garden hose. Any time something walks in front of it, it squirts some water and makes noise. It keeps the deer and ground hogs away from my regular outdoor plants. Can get fairly cheap on Amazon
It would likely keep racoons aways for awhile til they figure it out.
Squirrels do that to some of my outside garden plants. They are masters of getting past fences or other deterrents. They dig up everything.
Whatever critter it is cayenne pepper sprinkled around might keep them away.
This is exactly what squirrels do.
First off I must admit I’m a guerilla grower. Growing outdoors is hard. I’m putting up a mesh net and will try to secure the edges of the outer deer mesh net. One black rainbow sherbet seedling survived and was re planted.
Minced garlic works well too. I use it to keep the chipmunks away from my house foundation.
Squirrels, those are some bastards
Oh yeah Mid, I am going to put there mouth on fire .
The end result i wrapped them in the insect mesh netting, I placed deer netting around the bottom of the outside perimeter with branches on top, and placed deer netting on top in case they start climbing over the top.
With the exception of flying squirrels, grays, blacks, fox, and red squirrels are not nocturnal. They’re most active at sunrise through the early morning hours, then again a couple of hours before dark. Chances are it’s a nocturnal, ground dwelling critter. Might be deer, but more likely a possum, coon, or skunk. Believe it or not, they’re more after the nutrient rich soil than they are the plant itself. I had to find out the hard way not to use a fish or seaweed or kelp emulsion when growing outdoors. Racoon hunters bait their traps with fish emulsion because it is irresistible to them.
This is what we did to avoid those issues…
@Architectstoner Thats funny cause my little squirrels I see on my fences don’t come near my weed…Its those caterpillars that get mine every year… I was supposed to do the insect netting enclosure…but I lagged,so we shall see?
@wagner …some nice crops there!!
Thank you sir.
I Agree with you, I used red pepper flakes sprinkled around my plant’s and everything whatever was digging totally stopped, I like using fish emulsion but it seems to attract all kinds of rodents
In addition to peeing on the outside plants and using the motion detector sprinkler, I spray this stuff on the outlying plants like arborvitaes…not sure what it is made of, but seems to stop them.
Anybody else have feminized seeds turn male on you? I have 1 male NYC diesel, one female and the other is undetermined.

I’ve never had any stock from this website turn bruce jenner on me. I’d recommend going through the proper protocol and channels on this platform and attempting a reimbursement for the beans that turned.
