I have a 1000 watt LED grow light is it true that this is not a full 1000 watts

A customer has a question and I hope we can get some opinions on it, thanks

I have a 1000 watt LED grow light is it true that this is not a full 1000 watts and it depends on the voltage drawn from wall outlet to determine actual wattage? I’ve heard that I can only expect 1 gram per watt. Is this a fact and is there a formula to tell exact wattage?

No formula can give you actual watts, that should be in the paperwork with the light.

Give us make and model then we can maybe find out the details, but the reality is the actual watts, including losses, is likely to be, at the maximum, 200-250w based upon what I’ve seen regarding these things.

And how much you get per watt is another open question as there are so many variables that affect the end result.

What light do you have? Usually some googling will return actual wattage.

That is probably pulling less than 200 watts from the wall. Will cover about a 2x2 foot area.
