Firstly with the journal, do i post new topic each time i post as all i seem to be able to do on the original post is reply??
I will upload the few pics i took i took of my grow space so you can see the space i am working with but i just attached the ballast to the light and switched it on, i think i need to switch my lighting as the 600w one i have seems maybe to much for my few plants and it was very hot after 5 minutes of being on.
Recommendations needed plz for a more suitable lighting set-up

Yeah I see some issues.
A 600 watt HPS in that space is going to be hot. It can be done but needs some help. Best thing would be an air-cooled hood/reflector so you can just vent that light heat out of there. Also appears you are using a 4" fan and ducting, should have really went with a 6" fan and ducting to move much more air out of the tent. Also that exhaust, need to get it away from the tent and out of the room, get it venting into your attic or out a window.

A more suitable light for small places is LED. They run a lot cooler and are easier to maintain In a small cramped space. Your set up it good still. You will just have to figure out how to control your environmental settings. I agree with Hellraiser you need to be venting that exhaust into the wall or out a window. Good looking setup though

Updates for this journal should just be entered as a reply. That way they will all be together within the same topic. You would start a new topic for something unrelated, or if you started a new grow for example.
How large is that grow tent?

It’s a Wilma self watering system, just not set up yet, just stuck it in there to check it fitted oki.

I bought it as a complete grow room set up, 600w HPS so 6" fan and carbon filter ive written down low noise ducting 127mm x 5m so that is the ducting but as i said the tent was far to large so i had to make it fit.
So to give you a picture i live in a bungalow the upstairs is a loft conversion and i’ve set up the grow space in the wardrobe upstairs,there is a door within the wardrobe that leads to the tiny attic space left i could put the exhaust or if i pulled the exhaust out more it will vent into the room, which is just housing my daughters guinea pigs until summertime so it is a large unused space, i just wanted the tent hidden from main room which is why i put it there.
I am going to go upstairs and measure the space now and i will look at led lights.

measurements of tent are 120cm Height-100cm Width-140cm Depth

So like 4’x4.5’, a 600 is okay for that. You would probably want an air cooled hood if you stay with hid. Definitely a few led rigs that would hp too.

everyone here is correct about the HID and the heat… thats the reason i dumped my whole tent setup all together and just used the entire room for flowering but the 600w rigs sure do work well once you get the heat under control… i veg under LED and its always smooth sailing on that side of things… cant wait to see how it all turns out for you…

Seriously though that setup looks tits when you getbjt going what seeds ya gonna drop and the bungee cords is a great idea I think for the fans no vibrating. Out @ symbol in front of name to tag. Got some fem Northern lights just to start as read they real easy for beginners also i went to Iceland last week and i actually saw the Northern Lights, i figured it was a good omen, i’m, daft like that
Oh thats a great idea i started a journal but got a bit muddled so started this one also il contact admin see if i can get it moved. Good thinking batman :))
