Hydroponic seedling

Do I need to give my Autoflower hydroponic seedling and nutrients for the first few weeks?

@HappyHydroGrower can probably help here.

Hello my question is I have Autoflower seedlings and I am new to this. I am growing hydroponically and was wondering should I not give my seedling nutrients until veg?

My understanding is that hydroponics need to be fed from day 1. Even seedlings need food.
What nutrient line are you going to use?

General hydroponics. That’s what I was thinking as well but even reading about growing hydro on this site never speaks about what to do with hydro seedlings. I do appreciate you respond

Thanks brother.

@Mel420 depends on how you are starting your seedlings. No seedling when healthy needs any nutes usually untill the cotyledon leaves start to die off which is around 14-21 days… roughly.

I start my seedlings in pete pellets or rapid rooters. Some use rockwool cubes.

I also keep my seedlings in a heated seedling starter with dome. I would water very little with the emphasis on misting the dome more than actually watering the seedling. A seedling will feed off of the cotyledon leaves for the above mentioned period.

At about 10 days, I move them to my netpot under extremely low powered light and continue to dome it untill roots get established. Depending on nutes, you should have a feed schedule that will help. Just remember, in hydro, less can be best.

Got questions, fire away. I’m gonna take a few others that are very knowledgeable at hydro as well. @CooterJuice @OGIncognito @NUG61 @Graysin

Many different ways to accomplish the same goal. You’ll figure out what’s best for you in time.

Good luck and keep’em growin! :+1:t2::v::sunglasses:

:point_up_2: appreciate that Brother but still learning on hydro/aeroponic. I have learned it’s a daily res check on the PH and clarity of your res nutrient solution :love_you_gesture:

I always use rockwool cubes for my hydro seedlings. I soak the cubes in a low ec solution (.6-.8ec) at 5.5 ph. After roots are establised enough to go into net pots with hydroton ill then up my ec to 1.0, 5.8ph. 1-1.4ec is plenty enough nutes for veg. Is what works for me.

I use GH nutes as well…no nutes except maybe some rapid root growth for a few weeks. Starting at early veg. :sunglasses::v:

I use jacks 321 . I soak my peat pod with full strength jacks . Water when needed with jacks . When i see roots coming out i put them in there forever home still top watering until i see roots hit the nutrients. Usually doesnt take long for that to happen. Happy Growing :blush:
