HPS 400 for 3x3x5

A question from a fellow grower:

I have a 3x3x5 tent and just bought a cheap setup to get things going 400w hps lighting and one 4in carbon filter and fan.My questions is will it be enough lighting for them. Two will the fan and filter be enough to cool then tent and keep smell out? Basically im learning as i go. Tent is kinda small so might use scrog.

I believe the 400w light will be sufficient. It will put out considerable heat so cooling will be crucial. Normally folks will have a fan for intake and one for exhaust. You need to bring cool fresh air in while exhausting the hot air out. If you keep temps under control sounds like your off to a great start.
