I’m in Montana and heat is definitely a problem in my basement marijuana garden. With temperatures below 40F outside, I can only get the basement to about 45 to 50F. Will the potency suffer as a result of this? The plants (30 females) seem to be growing just fine.
The temperatures in your marijuana grow room are low, and that leads to slow plant growth. You might try some insulating material to hold in the heat. You can insulate the garden walls and floors with Styrofoam. If the planters are on pallets, it will protect the containers from losing heat. Using heat coils or mats might solve your problem by warming up your plants’ roots. If the roots are kept warm, the actual plants can withstand lower air temperatures much better. Gas heaters can also help by heating the room and creating CO2 for the marijuana plants.
