From a fellow grower: How do you get a cutting from a bubblegum plant? The plant only has a main stem and several sets of big leaves. I understand a cutting needs to have at least 2 nodes. Do I need to top it in order to get a cutting?
Your plant should be older, like 2 months old to be a mother plant.
You can top it to help keep it short, but it just takes time to produce shoots that will clone well.
Bend the main top shoot over very easily and secure it. This will allow new shoots to be formed out of the nodes and will grow towards the light. The bushier, larger and healthier the plant is the easier it is to extract healthy cuttings/clones in the future.
