How should I store seeds?

What is the best way to store and preserve seeds? Freeze or refrigerate? Best temperature? I grow small scale and have way to many seeds that I would love to grow eventually. What’s the best method for preserving these for as long as possible? How long can they be stored for? Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!

I store my seeds in a cool darck place in a small container whitout air circulation

I keep my seeds in the package they came in from ILGM, I just tape it up and then put them in a drawer in a cool dark place.
I wouldn’t freeze them I’ve heard people do put them in a light proof container and keep them in the fridge.

I throw all of my baggies into a "stash jar " which is air tight and shelters them from light. I also throw in some of those silica packets just in case there’s any moisture then put it in my fridge.

For years, if kept in cool dark place. . . I wouldn’t put them in fridge or freezer …

The bag seeds I keep in a good pill bottle. My good ILGM seeds I keep in separate zips labeled and in a mason jar. And all of them in a dark drawer in the cool basement.

It’s important to keep your seeds dry, in the dark, and cool. I personally have three year old Amnesia Haze seeds in my fridge which just sprouted easily. Also check out our article on storing cannabis seeds. We ship our seeds with official ILGM seed baggies nowadays ^^
