How much light is needed

Hi everyone,

First time doing this and I am on day 2 of seedling but I am not sure of the lights, I have them on the low setting of 25% but should they be higher. Working with the Vivosun 1000. Also having trouble with humidity as unable to keep it at 70, currently it is at 98% and I have a dehumidifier. Any suggestions would be great.

With seedlings, they do like humidity to be higher since that’s how they absorb water until the roots develop more. Are you doming them? If so, I have my lights around 25% as well at about 18". I do use Photone to measure light intensity but I’m not obsessed with it. here is a chart I follow. Download the Photone app on your phone and set lights.

Do you have it in the shower with you? Usually the problem is low RH. It is OK while a seedling and early veg but not later. Is it a seasonal temporary problem? The higher the RH then generally the temp needs to be higher

I have it in a grow tent. My temp in the tent is at 76 degrees

Sounds like you need to increase air exchange. Open the tent’s bottom vents or open the door and get some air moving. I have a 3x3 with a lot of lights. I use a intake fan and filter to increase air intake. I will often open the tent while lights are on.

When I use my exhaust fan the temperature drops. I am wondering if I have installed it the wrong direction. I have the arrow going into the filter.

No. Theyre very efficient a small adjustment of the rheostat is all thats needed.Keep it on low. I am supplementing heat with a space heater outside the tent. Im at 1 week/seedlings. Shoot for 75/75.

With that crazy humidity% youre gonna get mold. If you dont have it already.

I did no know I can keep the door open on the tent while the lights are on, I will try that to see if it helps, I have a 2x4 grow tent, could my tent be to small for 2 plants

Yes open door or vents while lights on. Keep exhaust at the very minimum more heat in the tent will get u a bit less rh. Try and get temps up into 80s if possible between 82 and 84 will help rh alot.

Oh try also when lights out tent closed leave exhaust on lowest and crank the intake fan. This helps me maintain a better rh in my room also. I turn up exhaust it gets cooler in there and also raises the rh quite a bit.

Week 2, I hope this is how it should look at this point. Its auto California

Snow and orange crush, is it to soon for nutrition? My soil is Sohum, says to just add water.
