Does the amount of hours per light that my girls receive determine when they go from vegetative to flowering stage?

If your plant is a photoperiod, it will need around 12 hours of light to transistion to flower. If indoors change your light schedule to 12/12. If it is outdoors it will transition as the days get shorter
If it’s an auto flower plant then the light schedule doesn’t matter

your plant can double in size during first 3 weeks flower, consider this when switching to 12/12, better to flip when half your space is full. keep height in mind also, don’t want them touching the lights.
