Holes in marijuana leaves

A question from a fellow grower:

after I feed the plant with some kind of 30g chicken shit .
I got some trouble .

Many holes in the leaves , but I found no bugs . Also some leaves are totally broken .

looks like bug damage and not nutrient damage

I too have a problem very similar. I’m almost 4 weeks in flowering. I’ve looked everywhere for bugs but haven’t seen any. I’m completely at a loss as to what it is.

How many holes have you found? If it’s bugs, and just one or two, they may be hard to find, or even see, they can blend into the background.
Every leaf, top and bottom…Every flower provides a place to hide. When I had bugs in my buds, I found they ate the hairs, first.
Good hunting, I hope it’s only 1 or 2 pests. If possible, look at first light, you might catch it/them.

Oops old post I didn’t notice the date… Sorry!

do you grow indoors or outdoors…at six weeks, is the plant still vegging, any buds?

the holes could be from bugs, photos always help…check every leaf… food grade diatomaceous earth, neem oil, a tablespoon of Dawn dishwashing soap in a gallon of water…are three safe ways to treat if there are no buds forming.

sticky yellow paper pads…get some, try and catch the bug so you know what to use against it…the caterpillars leave blackish beads behind, from their behind, look for that!!

Awesome answers! Thank you. I’ll attach photos

I have a similar problem. At six weeks Seedsman Sour Diesel: 2 leafs have
holes. Is that a caterpillar? Can’t see any pest. Thank you.

outdoor grows are tough, lots of possibilities, lots of places for bugs to hide…

have you spotted any particular insect yet?

clean up around the plant, clear other plants, especially leafy ones…don’t leave any places to hide…use safe organic bug killers per directions, like food grade diatomaceous earth and neem oil
As examples of what you could buy, the items could be cheaper at a local garden store…

You rock! Thank you very much. I’m traveling and won’t be able to see my
baby for a week. I hope some huge insect eats her:stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye::sunglasses:

I hate caterpillars…they were the reason I moved to indoor growing, we had 3 years of bad infestations, they were everywhere.
they would stop moving if you look at them, appearing like green twigs…the little black beads they drop behind is their calling card.

BTk, look for it in the insecticidal spray, it has to be the “k” variety to kill the caterpllars, other “BT” (bacillus thuringiensis, the “k” is kurstaki) kill different pests…if the plants aren’t flowering, you can be a little more aggressive but once flowering starts your choices are limited, they will affect their taste especially Neem Oil.

Spinosad is useful, too
