Being having some troubles setting my light height. I I had the light at 24 max power and it seemed to turn my leafs yellow, if I kept my light at say 36” on max shouldn’t be able to this hey ? To far away ?
How old are the plants?
Its kinda hard to get at first. Fine line between pushing them and burning them. Typically if starting at full power, u go higher then normal and ease it down watching for changes.
Plants are around 4 weeks, I fed them some cal /mag foliage feed and the colour cake back pretty good overnight, I would prefer running light at full power and moving it down because I could use the heat.
Those nodes look INSANLY tight . Yea maybe a tad close for her liking. But overall she looks super healthy.
Nice deep green. N just overall healthy
Ok thanks I can’t wait to flip her
18-24 inches is what HLG recommends. I have my HLG 260 at 20 inches above the tops of my plants, no burns, no problems.
In veg ?
On max hey ?
In veg I’d do 24" @ 260 watts
That’s where I had it and it want good, maybe blue dream is little gun shy I dunno
Some plants are just more sensitive than others, if that’s the case, I’d take it down to 180-200 watts for a while to let them acclimate to it.
Blue Dream is definitely a fickle bish… ive seen some that just didnt like the light diff… and its pretty nute tender too… also enjoys chiller temps then most. Its just a finicky strain tbh
Haha and now that i think about it, i recall humidity finickiness as well on someone’s thread. Most real purples (descendant of purple medincino or however u spell it) are like that. But great weed
If I had to guess plants asking for nutrients more than anything else. You shouldn’t really have any problems running at 24" or even closer. They’ll be nute hogs under a lot of light. More so if you’re off on vapor pressure deficit too.
I think rather than go back to where you were, start gradually getting closer couple inches every few days. Should bring on any issues gradually and allow you time to stop and adjust.
Thanks man, appreciate your time.
That’s for the info purp!
No problem. Others have good info too. You can play with dimmer some, or probably even a lot and lower your fixture some. Sometimes less is more. Others more is less. I am hammering my plants with light right now trying to keep temp up. My wife would shit if she seen a heater running while she is cranking ac in the house lol. She doesn’t really know any better as to what’s going on otherwise. Normally I would be trying to run it cool as possible.
I swear by the dimmer! You save light wear. Small plants dont require penetration like bigger ones do. Why burn the power if you dont need to? I turn my fixture down for seedlings to about 30 percent and lower the light to 6 or 8 inches from plants. If they get to shrubby I back off a tad on the lights. Then at about 8 inches tall or so I up the output to about 50 percent and raise the fixture another couple inches. Thenother major advantage of the dimmer is when you are working on the plants or photographing. Way nicer on the eyes!
So I lowered the light and running around 50% on light and upped my nutrients and she looks a lot happier
Is that during the flower stage?
