High levels of co2?

Ok some my plants have been suffering immensely. I created another thread trying to figure out the problem but I recently think I discovered the actual problem.

I’m in early veg, and my CO2 ppm levels are reading over 1500. I do have a burner. That is currently OFF. I turned off the gas line to the burner and still the ppms are sitting at over 1500. During the dark period they rise to over 1800s.

What can cause this to happen?

Room details.
6 led lights
Ac unit (no heat)
5 fans
Burner (unplugged)
It’s summer so not running the furnace
I do have a water tank heater outside of the room

I used to different co2 readers… both 1500 ppms.

What gives? My plants look horrible

Not likely due to CO2.

So as I stated in my OP. The co2 levels are very high for room with the burner and gas line completely shut off. I’m not sure what is causing this rise. During the night it jumps to 1800. I’ve used to different readers and both are reading about the same

Any idea?

All of your support ticket stuff looks reasonable. Let’s wait for some additional growers to chime in.

Measured another portion of the basement and it was reading 1500 ppms. Did the soapy water test in my gas lines and didn’t notice any bubbling up.

How can I have readings of 1500 ppm with no co2 turned on. Totally unplugged

What would be some plant symptoms of CO2 being that high especially on young plants?

What does your co2 measure outside?
co2 is heavier than air so if the room is below ground you may need an air exchange/exhaust system

Thank you for the response. I told it out side and within a matter of a minute it dropped to 460.

I’m convince this is the problem but I don’t know the source.

High co2 really wont bother the plants, but it will bother you.
You should get some air exchange going somehow.

Any pilot lights?

Unplugged the stove. Just to see. Only thing coming on with a pilot would be the water heater tank.

I’m really perplexed. Just took the sensor outside it dropped to 450 within a min

Looking sad. They may need to be transferred but I have smaller ones showing the same signs

Guessing overwatered. I see signs of it on lower leaves. Plus the drooping.
How often do you water. They need to dry out almost completely before you water again.
And pH should be 6.5-6.8 in soil.

The co2 at 1500 is still fine for plants. They should actually thrive at that level.
I’m more concerned for your safety.

Thank you. Appreciate the thoughts

Yes. I wait until they are dry. I’m in promix. Ph level is usually 6.0 ish.

How can I have that much co2 with no burner turned on

Could be pushing up from the ground.
I saw this is in a basement. Any little crack could be a source.
Place your meter near perimeter walls and move it around to see if you can find a high spot.

The water heater is a giant burner, check that it doesn’t have a faulty exhaust vent.
