I’m starting my first outdoor grow I’m starting from seed. I germinated 9 seeds in total #7 is gone it’s my fault I was trying to move the soil to help it a bit and it was all bad from there #5 has not popped out of soil but I’m hoping it pulls through. These are random seeds that’s why they’re just numbered they were mature just not sure if they’re Male/female so we’re in for a journey. The first 3-4 weeks I’m leaving them on my window sill after to my backyard where I will transplant then put them in indirect sunlight for a week or so. I am a beginner so if anyone has any tips I would really appreciate it, thank you fellow stoners
Do what you feel brother I don’t think you’ll be disappointed but I will tell you I did the same thing and wish I would have used top end genetics because it’s so much work for 12 weeks to at the end be limited by what this genetic strain can produce. Anddd on top of that having to cull big robust plants that turn out male hurts my heart. So I’ve switched to fems only and used ilgm and nirvana seeds (went crazy and grabbed over 1000$ worth when the ilgm went on sale)
Just what worked for me but again you’ll be super proud of whatever you grow. Good luck and let us know all your details like medium temps humidity etc for more accurate help if you do indeed need any.
This year is my experiment run since it’s my first grow I got the seeds from the same strain which I believe is gorilla glue or girl scout just not sure which one I know now to label i just hope they’re fems but I have been looking at what ilgm has to offer and I’m going to purchase something for my indoor grow soon. I will be updating soon thank you for your feedback.
Put a clear solo cup over your sprouts to maintain 90% RH. They derive all of their moisture from the air until a tap root is established after 2 weeks or so.
What soil are you in? Hopefully something designed for cannabis. If not, there’s going to be trouble. You still have time to get the right soil when you transplant up. If using a media; what nutes and when?
I spend 450 on white widow, gorilla glue and purple haze
I did the paper towel in a open ziploc tech and once the tap root was about 1/4 inch half inch I put into 1part organic miracle grow soil and 1 part perlite I think I should have used less perlite put seems ok for now. I wasnt planning on using any nutes until about week 2 since the npk in the soil has a good percentage to start. When I transplant to bigger pots I was going to do a soil mix myself with happy frog soil and coco coir You think thats ok?
I’m in a dispute on another thread about just this.
Bear with me; I don’t mean to sound arrogant. I would strongly suggest you stick exactly to a proven method like soil or soilless. Don’t try to mix the two. My advice is to use FFHF and a bloom supplement when the plant flowers. Once you have some experience you can start to branch out but don’t try to reinvent the wheel. You can attenuate the soil with coco or perlite but why?
I would avoid anything that says “Miracle Gro” on it. The issue you have to deal with is PH. This stuff is not buffered for cannabis. Frankly I don’t know what it’s buffered FOR lol.
Straight distilled or R/O water will be all your plant needs for a couple of months.
No, I get you completely. I’m taking all the advice I can get i really appreciate it. I’m gonna stay away from the miracle grow. Only reason I got the soil was for my sons plant he grew at school. So I decided to grow my seeds I had tucked away but now that I’m reading more an being on this platform I’m gaining more knowledge! Thank you!
You’re in good hands with @Myfriendis410.
Good luck on the learning grow. Just try to have fun at the same time. And yes, Myfriendis410 is a beast and a bank of knowledge. You will be in tip top shape by a months end under his wing.
For sure! Good looking out man. I’m really excited about the journey that’s is in store.
Dude! My first grow was MG soil and it was a rough smoke haha. Best advice is have fun.
Thank you growmie! I’m definitely not doing it again! You think I’ll be good after I transplant to FFHF?
Update week 1 they were stretching too much so I put a piece of foil as a reflector on a string and they stopped stretching. Any tips are welcomed thank you.
add a small desktop fan just to get them some stalk strength. Maybe not full on direct just yet, but some movement.
Thank you. I actually have a oscillating fan going 24/7 on 2 occasionally I’ll put it on 3 but they seem happy. What you think?
perfect. They will get stocky and start to fill out. Also, if you have a desk lamp or secondary light you can add it will help.
For my future grow I am gonna invest in a light for sure! This tech is pretty much an experiment for my my first time so I’m learning and I go. Really appreciate the response.
you are welcome. It can be any kind of light, regular incandescent bulb will do the trick.
Update week 2 babys are transplanted into 1gal pots till I find out the gender I used ffhf soil like myfriendis410 suggested and they are loving it!
