Hi everbody. Question about storing in jars

First, Thanks to all of you, @ Autofreak, your advice was spot on but really all of you helped me! My small plants I posted about earlier became shrub bushes about 3 ft tall! It is 2 GDP and 2 Bruce B’s. I dont know the exact weight but a fantastic harvest! I don’t sell anything, I consume it :slightly_smiling_face:. I am fixing to cure it in mason jars which is something I have never done. Is it safe to leave it in the jars until needed? i realize I got to burp them time to time I just dont want my harvest to dry left to long and dry into shake.

Invest in humidity packs like come in pill bottles and other things, helps keep moisture where you want it.
Some folks put their jars in the freezer to stop moisture loss.
I cure mine in jars for close to a year before I even use it.

Once your flower is cured, put a 58% or 62% Boveda pack in each jar for long-term storage.

Get you some 62% boveda packs to tape to inside of lid in jar. I dknt like mine touching my buds

The freezer is a good place for long-term storage. Once cured it can go in and will remain as fresh as the day you put it in there.

I use 67gram 58% Boveda packs for large jars and 8 gram 62% Boveda packs for small jars @woodmaster1967

I’ve had the 67 gram packs for 5 years and they still have plenty of life left in them. I recommend you burp the jars at least once a day for a month or so to get the best terpenes.

Look into grove bags too. No burping involved. Just dry and put it in groves and basically forget about them

Grove Bags, jars, vacuum lids, RH sensor, ALL GOOD
Note, that batch of 5 RH sensors all read (-5) too low.

Yeah I’ve had a couple of those be off a bit. I think it might be from watering and forgetting to take them out. :face_with_peeking_eye:

I got some of those jar lids last year. They pissed me off :rofl::rofl:

Agree with @Myfriendis410 Freezer is a great place to store buds for long term After cured. Mason jar works fine. I have couple jars on cold storage now. You can pop the lid it smells just as fresh as the day you put it in there.
Good luck

WHY?

I got them to test the taste when using vacuum, without bud compression (bag).
Grove Bags under test, also.
Personally, curing is a lot of work, I smoke just harvested/dry bud regular.
Storage is a new concept.

Its was the pump itself. Very piss poor design

I go in at 65% or so. Burp down to 62% then seal amd store. A burp every couple weeks. Grove bags or jars i do both same. 6 months and i sit at 55-60%

Thanks for all of the reply’s. I think I’m going to freeze them. I am proud of how this turned out. I am a little scared to post picture’s because I live in Georgia. Medical is legalized but no REC and no dispensary’s available. I’m to old to be in a cell. Hopefully, very soon, everyone will see the light. Thank’s :+1: :+1:

I picked up grove bags for my first harvest when it happens. Do you still have to put bovieda (spelling?) packs in?

I have heard great things about grove bags and I’m excited to minimize the work involved once harvested. Do you store in them forever or just let them cure then move to a vacuum sealed jar?

Nope. Just bag and leave alone. It maintains the rh in the bag
