Here it is, first grow starting! (Closet grow)

@Niala

Merci de ton aide :slight_smile:

Thanks for recommending these devices, will surely grab both of them to make sure my grow goes well :slight_smile:
As for the soil, I have been recommended to use that one in a specialised shop, what do you mean by “hot” mix?

Little update on seeds, they have been in paper towels for close to 40 hours now, still no signs of improvement!

A “hot” soil is a soil that have all nutrients and minerals on it. So it has a lot of NPK and micro nutrients in it and it’s a good thing for vegetative stage (4-5 nodes) and you will not have to put as much nutrients as specify on the chart and cost less at the end.

However, it have to much nutrients for seedling / sprouting… They will " nute burn" if you start them with the “hot” soil… @Blasting.

Personnaly, I use the Fafard soil for the entire growth with great results…

And your seeds are a little bit slower than average, but some take as much as 1 week to crack open and tap roots. All my ILGM seeds had tap rooted in a 48 hrs window :wink: with the soaking method :wink:

And I edit the first post with some other recommandations :wink:

Et de rien mon ami, c’est toujours un plaisir que d’aider d’autres jardiniers :wink::innocent:

You can make something like that for cheaper. I am using something similar.

Use a 5 gal bucket (or larger if needed)
Submersible pump (doesn’t need to be that strong)
Some 1/2 in drip line
Some 1/4 in drip line
Some 1/4 T’s and barbs
A timer

I use mine for watering when I would normally hand water. I just mix my nutes in the 5 gal bucket- ph it and then press go!

I can also switch the 5 gal out for a 40 gal and use the timer to manage while I’m on vacation.

Hope this helps save you a little money!

Drippers are interesting and efficace. The only thing is they have a tendancy to clog, espacelly if you put nutrients in the reservoir, so daily inspection is required after a few weeks of utilisation. @Blasting

@Niala

I don’t use true drippers. I just made a drip ring out of 1/4 inch drip line and punched holes in it every 4 inches or so.

It can work, espacelly if you have indépendant lines for each pots :+1::ok_hand::wink:

@Ray4x

Bien, assure toi juste que c’est le mélange connaisseur pour plante tropical, comme sur la photo :wink: @Blasting

How does these feeders feed the right amount of water to your plant?

@niala will make sure I get the right thing :smiley:

@Blasting True drippers have a gallon/hour rate, that’s why home made ones are trickier to make but it’s faisable, maybe @Ray4x can explain how he made his to have a dripping rate that’s not too high and haven’t too small holes that they do not clog , I notice that he put a timer on his, maybe it’s the secret :wink:

@Blasting @Niala

I’m not too worried about drip rate since I usually just water until runoff and then stop it.

But when I was on vacation I was using a 2 GPH drip emitter. The best way to find out the flow is to just out a gallon of water in and then time how long it takes to empty it. Then adjust your timer accordingly.

Make take a little trial and error to get it right.

Hi there my name is “Will” and what @Countryboyjvd1971 showed you is what I use. The rate of water is controled by a timer run off of a 9 volt battiery. so you can control how much water your plants get per hour.

Lequel est-ce ? Si ce n’est pas trop indiscret :innocent:
