Hi iam new to all this spent many hours reading and watching youtube question is iv seen alot of people on youtube dry out new soil before using to eliminate any risk of bugs or mites is it likely that shop bought soil in the uk with have any of these init and will drying it out harm the benificial bacteria

This is not something I personally do and bugs have not been a problem. Dealt with fungus gnats once but they live outside and get in with kids and dogs going in and out so I’m not gonna blame the dirt lol.
Soil choice is very important which kind did you choose?

I usually dump my bags into a kids swimming pool add just a few goodies turn it over for a day or two with a rake an put in the pot. And I have dumped it right out of the bag into the pot. Good luck

That’s a new one on me but it sounds reasonable. Do you know if it’s marketed for cannabis? I see it comes with some fertilizer in it. Doesn’t say time released though so that’s good.
