Help please. Super excited - 1st grow - are they ready to harvest?

The harvest part seems a bit overwhelming to me… not sure why. But, any advice would be appreciated. I’m a bit freaked out about it… LOL

Pictures to follow…. I have two Bruce Banner autos and two Durban Poison autos, 11 weeks completed. This is start of 12th week. And btw… any pointers on the stunted Bruce Banners would also be supercool:)).

Check em’ out:))). AND THANK YOU!!

This is the Durban #1

I forgot to tag @Borderryan22 @Graysin, both their advice changed everything for me:))). And I wanted to add @Hellraiser because I follow your AWESOME 411…. And thanks @Hashtonbutcher for the shout out:))). Hubby’s getting super excited, I have five more started on day 15, same strains. And I have two fem Runtz, all seeds from @ILGM.Support and so far I’m 11 for 14, not bad for a beginner. I still haven’t spent the money on a microscope (definitely one with a stand or tripod) or any harvest necessities. Any advice on my next steps, concrete, please or I get totally overwhelmed :(( LOL… much more out their to fret over. Thanks for your help and time.

Plants look good. Congrats on getting to final push!
I would say over all you have a few weeks left. At least a couple weeks for the most advanced of them.
As far as advice for the stunted one, there is not much you can do for an auto. They will do what they want when they want. I have been having terrible luck with autos lately. They want to flower way too soon.

Once they are ready, it is the chop that scares most growers. It is so damn final. :grimacing:
No more second guessing, it is done.
Just keep it dark and cool with good airflow while drying. It will be fine. :white_check_mark:

And @Reed71

Sweet… I was beginning to think I waited too long. So can I give it more nutes? I stopped my every other nute watering a few days ago, just in case. It’s taken me this long to get clear pics taken and uploaded. Also, can I start flushing them, but with tap water from the hose? I’ve been giving them filtered water the entire time, pain in the booty!! And I’m having to watch and inspect for caterpillars. I’ve found a couple on one plant so far. Other than that, the wasps seem to be taking care of things:))

I know I’m going to need to wash them, and I watched Jorge Cervantes videos, dipping or soaking a couple minutes in 1/5 3% Hydrogen peroxide and water, and then rinsing and hang to dry. I’m not sure how to keep them from getting dusty or pet hair during the dry? I’m thinking about a hanging mesh bag and drying indoors. I’ve got to get this stuff down, since I’ve got more in the works as we speak:))). And for me, it’s been a routine, so now I need to add the harvest, super important. I definitely am going for the sativa affects. Thanks all!!

It’s super hot here today, over 100 degrees, thankfully the RH has been low for our area. My babies are out getting real sun, since I stated indoors…

Yes @HMGRWN I agree autos do whatever they damn well please 4 sure!..Ive had pretty good luck in the past…nothing crazy but 3,4 footers BUT this year probably a quarter to half of my plants are coming out “Dwarfs”…Its not only me Ive read quite a few comments from growers of autos that this is happening this year more than others…I dunno?
@Sammy2 …They look good man!..Ive grown Bruce Autos from ILGM and yes they came out with different pheno traits most of the time from big to smallish…from green to really purple…I think that is true though with ALL plants especially Autos though… Ill tell you what though… Sometimes those stunted runts turn out to be the nasty ones…really smelly, sticky and stoney…
**Heres my runt Mexican Airlines Auto ** I think it was only a foot tall…

…and yes the stupid Caterpillars got me too, again…! But whatever you get you’ll be happy because you grew it yourself…
Keep posting the results!!

A microscope is important for trichome ripeness. Most of the $20 ones on Amazon have a generic plastic stand that works just fine but @Audiofreak used a microphone stand if I remember right.

Other highly recommended tools: sharp shears/trimmers (at least 2 pairs so you can alternate while one is gummy); Boveda packs; Grove Bags (better than mason jars for curing); mini hygrometers to go inside your bags or jars so you can see without opening them if they need adjustment.

Helpful, but expensive tools you will like but don’t need: TrimBin, cannabrush, trimbag, and/or a wet trimmer with blades. For first harvest, struggle through it by hand to appreciate a fully manicured bud grown by yourself, but after the first time it gets old and the above mentioned trim tools will make your life very nice.

When zoomed in my hands shake to much. So the microphone stand allows better stability for scope.

I agree. The mic stand makes the process much easier. Doesn’t take an expensive one.

Cost me about 15.00 on amazon.

Wowza!!! Y’all are AWESOME!! @AL_GREEN, thanks for the encouragement. I think I read you’re an outdoor grower too? The watering has been tricky with this heat, in containers especially! I have two fem Runtz in the ground, using tap water and nutes and they’re looking pretty good. That’s a nice runt:)). Today, the Bruce Banner’s look like I under-watered it:((( Bummer, they look stressed, but I can’t really see what I’m looking at. Definitely need that microscope!!

Thanks @Graysin for the straight forward information on that and all the other goodies. And I had seen @Audiofreak ‘s set up, but I kept looking at stuff and got overwhelmed…LOL again.

Do y’all think I should stop with the nutrients?

Thanks all!!

They sell a Jewelers loupe on Amazon for not much $$$ Cheaper than a microscope I’m sure… when you’re ready to check your trichomes… I misplaced a trinket lens that Pot-4-pot sent me about 4 years ago when I bought a kit from them…Its supposed to attach to your smart phone to take macro pics ?.. I have a few magnifying square thingys that were bought for looking at small print…It works pretty good for now…
P.S. yes I’m an outdoor grower…

You need a jewelers loupe to examine the trichromes to monitor their maturity, which will tell you when to harvest. It is something you can’t see with the naked eye very well if at all.

I had a jewelers loupe but tossed it, it’s so small and my hands shake. A cheap digital scope did wonders for me.
