Help.. Overwatering or something else?

Hey guys, first time grower and i’m about a month in. I found 3 seeds in a bag and planted them July 3.
1 Plant is doing amazing… the other two… not so much.

Right now they are in Coco/soil mix and in 3 Gal soft pots.
I have only given them 1/2 dose of nutes, FFtrio big bloom and Cal-Mag last watering (two days ago)
Started LST yesterday.

2 Galaxyhydro 1000w . 20/4hr
Temp 77
Ph 6.6-6.7

The healthiest looking plant^

there are also two seeds Afghan outdoor that were planted 7/12

They look over watered to me and are damping off. If you were to repot into fabric pots that will help as will getting into a larger soil mass. I would suggest you stick with a proven cannabis line of soil and grow with that at first.

Do you have a PH meter? TDS meter? You will need them. In the meantime you can put a fan across them to help dry out the soil somewhat.

I have both. Ph meter I think is off slightly…
I just got some happy frog. Should I replant them in that? what size pot? Right now they are in 3 gal fabric pots

You must have just done that because your picture shows in a plastic pot…3 gallon in FFHF is fine. Most of us simply pick up the pot to determine if ready for watering. If it’s heavy…don’t water lol.

Ah yeah the one thats doing the best is still in a 2.5 gal plastic my bad.

and the spots on the lower leaves?

Could be splash; could be PH, could be related to the watering. Let it ride; dry them out a bit and they’ll be fine.

@PurpNGold74 @Witchhouse A few days later and the two plants that are curling/color is off are not doing much better. As a matter of fact, the only plants that arent looking well are in fabric pots…

I plan on transplanting them to slightly bigger plastic pots with more holes for drainage.

should I still hold off watering? Its been 4 days and the soil is pretty dry

this is my other plant… who is going through LST and doing great. Watered today with 1/2 dose Big Bloom and 1tsp of Cal-Mag

here are the Afghan Kush babies. Sprung up 7/12… Color is still a little off but they look better. Transplanted them into 3 Gal pots yesterday then watered today with 1/2 dose Big Bloom and 1tsp of Cal-Mag (1/2 gal total)

They look petty good to me. Give them some time to get their roots spread out into the bigger pots. Try to water in a ring around them, too get the roots to search out the moisture. It’s very easy to overwater a small plant in a big pot. Just do a little at a time and let them dry out well in between. Good work! :+1:

I agree here. A lil water in a circle to encourage root growth will be fine.

Im still puzzled by the color specs. Gotta be either a light deficiency or something wonky in the soil. U uppoted with new fresh dirt so just keep an eye on her

Thanks guys! @Witchhouse I tagged you because I follow your journal and also are in the New England area!

I also just calibrated my ph meter…

Yay! Keep that pen calibrated!

I think your plants look fine as stated above. You’re being a good “Dad”.

Just keep in mind the fabric pots tend to dry out quicker than plastic pots as they can breath all around where plastic not so much except the top and the holes so watering will be different in amount and frequency

thanks all, i’m going to just let them do their thing all weekend and try not to peek every 5 mins

Good luck with that. Took me over a month before I stopped looking into the tent every chance I got. I’m down to about 15 times a day now.

I look at mine too many times a day as well haha. Now I got a wifi thermometer/hygrometer so I can see the info from my phone and it’s even worse! :joy:
