My Do si Dos is in Wk 8 of Flower starting today. Ik the Breeder recommended 8-9 weeks but I’m curious because I noticed the same pattern with my last grow since they both grew in the same environments. I checked the trichomes and they are milky and the Pistils are mature on the side of the buds but almost all of the pistols on top of the colas are still white. Can this be a cause of heat Stress because my temps were around 80-85 but now peaking the 90s with the recent heat wave and one of the colas have been light burned from direct contact around Wk 3-4. Wasn’t anticipating the stretch so I had to get a taller tent.
The Breeder’s time frame is for perfect growing conditions. Add at least 2 more weeks over what they say.
Most likely foxtailing. The “foxtails” will have pistils that are less mature than the rest of the plant.
I just cut off my foxtails when I harvest.
She has burned tips and is pretty leafy… so aside from genetics (those top white pistils) id say ur pretty friendly with the Nitrogen. That’ll keep new grow coming in longer then you want.
Like @MidwestGuy said u can just chop those tails off. Or let them stay Free weed.
All that said. Check trichs on the older mature buds not the sugar leaves. And harvest when enough of them are ready.
They say potency is lost when it foxtails from stress. Is that accounting for the entire plant or just the top of the colas that has foxtails?
The foxtails would certainly be less potent since the trichs are less mature. I don’t think that is the case for the flower on the rest of the plant.
