Hey guys and girls, i am going to chop one of my plants down tonight and was wondering if anyone has heard of bud washing? i saw it on youtube and it looked interesting but i cant bring myself to literally dip and wash my buds in the water like they do and show. has anyone heard of this or tried it? OK my main question is after i chop my plant down, should i trim all the fan leaves and excess leaves before i let them hang? thanks

@kabongster can you remember which thread @Paranorman I know we have a thread it was discussed at length in
there’s a post in here from Dumme that keeps bud washing simple
“my main question is after i chop my plant down, should i trim all the fan leaves and excess leaves before i let them hang”
I try to, if you let the leaves stay on, they dry curling in towards the bud making it more difficult for me to trim…I try to get close to the bud that matters giving it shape, leaving some smaller leafy material too close to cut for comfort.
It is a little bit messier if you go ahead and hang as it is and let everything dry I personally like to trim some of the big stuff off there are not going to be used like the fan leaves and such but it sounds like you have the right idea and I’m with you I want to try washing but I can’t get myself to do it because what I’m doing now is working fine I don’t want to risk I figured they get washed when I water them congrats on your harvest
With one of my plants which is almost ready ,I’m going to be splitting the stem and washing the buds. That way I can compare it against the other one the same . so I can see if there’s a different.
I highly recommend dry trimming if flavor matters to you… you might not ever go back… even if it is easier to wet trim…
