Harvested Weight

First time posting - Hello all!
My Q is: When people say they harvested, say, 5 ounces from a plant do they mean the fresh weight or the dried weight? I’ve done about three grows and most I’ve gotten was 7 GRAMS as weighed after drying. Am I doing something wrong to get those low yields? I grow Autos and I know that they don’t produce quite as much per plant but still…

Most folks seem to specify wet/fresh weigh vs dried weight. There is quite a spread for how much each of us get from our plants. It depends a great deal on your specific setup and growing techniques.

I have only grown auto’s once so far (second pair of autos are currently flowering) and I got 6 - 9 ounces from each plant. Usually about 16 ounces from photo period plants.

It took me a few grows to get those results consistently.

You should fill out a grow support ticket so that folks can provide specific answers that will apply to your specific setup and growing techniques.

Welcome to the ILGM forum.

Edit: here is a link to the support ticket

Ouch
Weight is dry weight.

Something is obviously wrong. Do you have any started right now or or going to soon. We need to get you some help. When I started I started with autos. I had no clue what I was doing other than practical experience obtained from gardening. 2 - 4 ounces was typical. Usually right around 3.

I would start with finding out what you are doing.
Medium
Nutrients
Lights
How you start plants
The basics.
Autos need to have a good start. If they get upset they seem to go off the rails.

Yeah, we try to specify wet or dry when posting but sometimes we forget.
Just fyi for future reference, you can figure to lose 75 to 80% of wet weight once dry.
So 10oz wet will dry down to 2oz. This is approximate, but you get the idea.

Yeah @Squatch that’s a pretty low number. Let us know more about your set up and methods and I’m sure we can dial you in to better harvests

Wet weight is pretty much irrelevant. I’d presume most people weigh after the final trimming when they’re about to start curing. 1/4 oz final yield is extremely low. I’m with @Pinboy, tell us what you’re working with and I’ll guarantee we can help you out.

What kind of light are you using? Grow medium? I know from personal experience, my weight didnt pick up until i was producing dense buds and thats because i upgraded my lighting.

We’d need to know more about your grow but 7 grams is way short of your plant’s potential.

Are you growing without lights? Was the plant getting just some daylight from a window?

Welcome to the community @Squatch

Gonna go out on a limb and say ‘yes’ here. I suspect insufficient lighting and harvesting waay too early.

Same here.

My current grow. It has several weeks to go as of this photo.

Same plant right this minute. Maybe been 10 days since last photo.

The little one is same as domed one (hiding) on left in first pic. Just topped it at 3/4 nodes.
