Harvest on the horizon questions

So, with harvest in the near future I have been thinking about the process. My questions aren’t so much about how, but more about what to expect in the way of the sweet aroma everywhere. I don’t really have a space that I can control ambient so I am considering buying a 2nd tent to dry the harvest in.
I wasn’t expecting the 2 plants to finish at different times. I was just going to use the grow tent. Any other suggestions? And will I need another exhaust & carbon filter to control the smell? I guess I have no idea what to expect, and need to start planning soon.
Thanks for any input. :peace_symbol:

You can run a duct to the second tent to draw air from. That’ll keep the smell down.

I’m kinda in the same boat. I have no concerns about odor but no other small area that I can control temp and humidity to dry as well as I can in the grow room. I may try to dry in big paper bags hung up as close to the ceiling so they won’t be in as much light. By then the 2 new girls that just broke ground today should be ready to move in

@Pinboy yea, the smell isn’t a huge concern. But controlling the drying environment is. Would suck to get to harvest and not have the right tools. This weed is getting more expensive with each passing week! :joy:

Agreed. I’m going to be ordering a loupe or some type of digital microscope for checking trichomes this week. Anyone have recommendations?

My son gave me this as a Christmas gift. Works well, but slightly touchy. image|375x500

I got one of these: edit: removed unauthorized link

It’s pretty cheap and the scope is easier to use than I thought it would be. The built in light is a really nice feature.

@Covertgrower. Has got you covered, I would just like to add crank the exhaust fan up a little more to maintain negative pressure in both tents. Should work fine.

Ok cool. Thanks!

Hey @Willum, sounds like these guys have got you covered for the smell.

Have you considered doing a bud wash? If you haven’t already got things for that you might want to have a think on what you’ll need… if you’re choosing to do a bud wash, that is.

Do you have trimmers? Mason jars (or similar) ready for the cure? Hygrometers, etc? Not essential but useful tools to have. :v:

I’m covered with the essentials, except for the tent I’ve got to order. No clue with the bud wash tho? I’m thinking these 2 will at least go into the last part of the month - Lil Dragon even a bit longer. So I think I’ve got time to gather what I need for that. Mind explaining a bit?

Hey never mind on the bud washing - got it .
Thanks!

No wozzers, mate. You’ll probably only need a little tent if you’re only using it for drying. Maybe something cheap like a pop-up pet tent. Just make sure it’s fairly dark inside. You could always throw a towel or something over it to block any light.
Just my two pence… :woman_shrugging:
Good luck whatever you do, you’re smashing it! :+1:

Yea, I’m looking at small grow tent. Might as well. Can use it down the road for germination & seedlings.
I have another question on a different topic if you don’t mind. Just checked on girls after light came on. I noticed a cple little changes with Noodle’s buds. Does this look like foxtailing? Thanks for your input

You folks have this covered.
I just hung an 8x10 tarp in my basement to keep my crop out of sight and out of light.
I’m pretty sure it will help keep the smell in, the humidity down and the temp just right
going to crop I’m praying, in 2 weeks. The tent I’m currently using has no ventilation except the door flap and a 6 inch fan. I catch a good wiff when I come in from outside and I’m sure everyone within 6 inches of my house smells it too.
yeah, right.
It is what it is.
LOL

@Willum hows it goin over there? You gotta be getting close!

@Pinboy greetings! This entire process has been a test in patience for me - not an easy task! And watching trichomes every day is another test! Noodle is inching ever closer to her fateful day, but not ready yet. Tris are maybe 50/50 clear-milky. No amber to mention - some. Lil Dragon is still lagging behind by at least a cple weeks. I’m thinking 1st cple weeks in Feb. here’s how they look.
