Are there any benefits growing with organic soil? I have been reading all the types of soil to grow but was wondering if going organic would be a good choice. I am open to growing with other mediums but wanted some input using organic material. Once again that’s to all those growers who know more than myself.

Yeah there is countless ways to do it. DWC, Coco, Organic it’s really a choice. Some say taste is better with soil others say you have more control with soil less and the list goes on. Organic bonus would be PHD water only pretty much. Here is some organic/outdoor/indoor folks I’ll tag for yeah.

Im trying my best to mimic mother nature’s growin style all organic ,except the pots I’m using, @thecount13 , @garrigan62 is a great mentor as mentioned with lots of organic recipe’s i belive @Myfriendis410 is a coco grower but i coyld be wrong, therez many more organic growers tgey will pop out im sure and welcome my friend

I was thinking of using organic material because of just what you say, mimic mother nature. I know that other forms are out there but wanted to try organic.

So here’s my take:
If you have access to good organic ingredients, why not? I would not use anything until I have grown a couple of plants to harvest first using tried and proven techniques and materials. Once you have an idea of the inter relationships of everything then you can start crafting an organic media.
That said; we are stepping in front of Mother Nature throughout this process: highly modified seed strains that, in part, respond well to LOTS of nutrients, plus we are doing something highly unnatural to the plant: forcing it to NOT go to seed. So you are basically driving a race car when you grow. You CAN put regular gas in it but you are losing out on a lot of performance. This is the analogy I use.
Personally I prefer to use good quality ingredients in moderation that are buffered for cannabis. As to flavor; I’ve heard soil produces nice flavor and I’ve done basically most of the growing media out there including soil. The best I’ve ever had is in hydro. For potency, flavor and smoothness.

I really appreciate the knowledge from someone who has grown. I briefly read some of the ways you craft organic matter. That being said, with Michigan now being legal, I can grow up to 12 plants indoors not out of doors but still do not want someone to narc me out. I have a friend that grows for patients and had talked to him about growing mediums. I know that everyone that is successful has there own and true grown methods but he told me that my garden soil (organic with worm casing etc.) would be a very good choice. I was looking what others have say and you make a valid point on learning the grow process not even considering the highly modified seed strains. Once again thanks for this info. and if you do not mind I may pick your brain in the future.

@Mrcrabs so I left room to actually be able to do 8 or more holes if needed. I have the stem just above the water wear the bubbles are popping on it. Put in some clone solution and dipped the clone in clonex. PHD the water to 5.8. Is there anything I’m missing? Seems to all be in order?

I think it’s a great idea to use organic materials. If you feel confident in your growing skills; go for it. The only thing I might suggest is to do a slurry test of the soil you intend to use to make sure it’s within the PH range of cannabis: basically 5.5 to 7.0 is workable. 6.3 to 6.8 is perfect. If you can get the soil PH where you want it you will grow great cannabis.
@garrigan62 has a recipe for soil that’s supposed to be pretty good. Maybe he’ll weigh in.

Before going into organics, I must add, learn how to read your plants. You must be able to spot deficiencies.
