This will be my eight time growing indoors in a small 2x2x5 grow tent. Now since I’ve begun growing in this tent I must say I’ve learned quite a bit understanding the characteristics of a canabbis plant , temperature it’s thrives in during vegetative stage and budding stages. When I first journey out in this was not for a beneficial profit of some sort but a desperate cry for my oldest living sister being my eldest sister had perish from cancer, so I did excessive research on what could help my sibling and found myself here, now with about $4265 invested, so indoor growing requires investing if you desire to get the best quality bud. Now my first few grows did well and the bud was great , very oily with a great euphoric high and a medium body buzz but over all good but not the best, but now at this point the hard part was accomplished, getting through a full cycle grow after nearly killing the plant, which in fact I lost 3 out of the first 4 I’ve ever attempted to grow indoors. Perhaps I knew the quality could be better but how; hmmm well I started researching and trying to learned more about the plant
and after I say grow number 5 I figured out more on the actual process from microbial organisms, and bacteria being there are good and bad which helps plants thrive. What was really fascinating in a way is how you can literally take fecices of an animal to grow great tasting fruits, vegetables, and amazing medicinal medicine for Acidic born bacteria diseases that’s enters into a human body and deteriorate it from the inside out curing the body back into its normal strength from such pathogens was very intuitive to me and it’s was mesmerizing and creating a nature many of us don’t portray hardly which is patience, due to human behavior and the rapid changes of society not many of us desires to have to wait for results when we are so busy and caught into our life styles , it’s always go, go, go, non-stop. But what I have learned in the process is initially how to cultivate a plant in its full essence of blooming and has amazing characteristics, quality, and most of all potency. So hopefully in this journal thread I can help those who desire to bargain on some equipment , and spend hard earn money on the main sources that it requires to not only grow nice full plants, but posses over all great quality, exceptable quantities, and outstanding potency. I’ll really take the time in this thread to give simple instructions on what I do in my grows from germinating the seeds, how I layer my soil medium in pots, what heights I set my lights to get optimum growth , how I top, trim, and train my plants to get the desire growth I’m satisfied with to get decent results. Now by no means I claim to be any expert, but it’s a few steps that I’ve learned along the way in simple adjustments, adding certain additives to your soil to get great lush thriving growing plants to later flower into nice full buds with great benefits to help those who desire to use medicinal marijuana as a supplement instead of pharmaceuticals that gives comfort to one issue but yet can cause others issues in other organs while trying to correct the main issues, so this thread will have it’s pros and cons but all in all it will help some reach the success of yielding at a minimum 2-3 ounces per plant, not only others will benefit but it will also help me compare to where I started and how much information I’ve learned in the short 4 years I’ve been doing this indoor growing, so again I hope my methods help and give many pointers and techniques on how to maximize they harvest in growing great quality potent medicine to help they issues, so I’ll be getting prepared this weekend with photos and details on how I start and what I do during the process in my growing…Happy Growing and keep it clean organic and green
!!!
I’ll be watching this buddy, can’t wait to see your next beauties!
On board with that @ktreez420 going to love watching @yoshi grow . I really enjoy watching the grows that are more free flowing and push things more than the strictly scientific approach . How have you guy’s been doing ? Hope things are doing good for both of you . Waiting on my blue dream to show up to start my next grow . After seeing the one in the bom contest I had to break down and get some .
Now I’m excited to do this for the sake of others but on the other hand I’ve grown the Kush strain several times and found it it to a good all around plant for as medical purposes, and if you harvest it at the right stage it can have all three sedative qualities is why I like it so much, it can be uplifting, it can a reliever, and it can keep you stuck, but timing is key due to harvesting, so I plan to explain the three different stages to allow those that’s its a growers choice but regardless either one has great benefits.
My soil mix will be promix sunshine mix #4 with a Fox Farm 5-8-4 fertilizer with earth worm casting , Azos and Mykos with perlite and dolomite lime in a 3 gallon self wicking bucket system . No Grow nutrients during vegetative stage but watering with rain water and seaweed extract , I don’t know the ph yet but if it’s a more coco coir base medium I’ll be running it around 5.8-6.0 at first to I find her sweet spot once I get them going .
Getting plenty of early spring rain which is a great treat from mother nature cause I need plenty of her bounty of rain water for my next two plants. I find rain water
to be a great attribute for growing due to low ppm and full of microbial organisms and purify by evaporation, so yes I might have to pull my bucket twice to get my jugs all full but it will be great for my plants.
Okay now I’ve finished my unknown freebie seed and man what an outstanding result, but now it’s time to get self wicking buckets cleaned out, soil up with my recipe I’ve learned from Cali Green grows on YouTube, germinate my two seeds and get them going here soon, hopefullly this weekend since I’m off but after the pine wood derby race with my grandson.
Okay put 2 seeds to soak to germinate, will get my schedule figure out this week end for as the grow but this will be a scrog grow in 3 gallon pots , I plan to top them and put them in flower in 2-4 weeks so hopefully I can get them boosted on grow nutrients at first or second node without burning them so maybe 200 ppm maybe but I’ll play it as it goes and make adjustments as needed, but I also plan on staying committed to the scrog the entire grow. Now the plant I just finished that’s drying, I’m still impressed with the smell and how strong the citrus Pugnant scent is in these buds but I did run terpinator and bud factor x in sequence with that plant rotating one feeding bud factor x than next feeding terpinator and foliar spraying 13 essentials. I’m not sure if it’s just the genetics in the strain are it was how I grew it and feeding with seaweed extract, recharge, but I’ll know more after this grow planning on the the same method but subject to change once they start talking. I will put my ocean
waves and tropical
looped music
in there as soon as they break the top of the soil to add sound waves and vibration this grow, again it’s gone be another experiment of learning on all what I can do in my growing.
One of my seeds has already starting germinating and the other looked as if it was so I pour more pH water on the paper towels earlier now I’ll go check them here shortly, but I pull the remnants of the last plant out the smart pot and to say the root mass was really not as big as I thought it should be in the smart pots, no comparison to the self wicking pots, so I’ll be doing these next to in my wicking pots again and plan to veg into the scrog. Now while I’m waiting I’m making a few adjustments , ordering the Meizhi 450 watt to replace the China brand 400 watt Led hoping the Meizhi has more output since I cannot find any specs on the light, but I’ll be getting my two seeds going here in the next day are so hopefully if I can get this other seed germinated, if not I’ll just go with the one for now and may e try the other one outside.
I’m gone give the scrog a full commitment this time but I’ll have design a way to shop vac the water out of the reservoir on the wicking bucket, so hmmm engineering at its finest but I think I can figure it out. Ah hah I have some tubing from my canister filter on my fish tank with a cyphon…well ha that should work so I should be able to commit to the plant growing into my screen I built once it’s zip tied in place. But only one seed is showing the tap root coming out and the other one has yet to germ, but my ILGM O.G.Kush seeds has always been excellent and the white widows be on some other S#$@ and if widow do germ they always stretch into my lights, but I’m really hoping I can mustard this widow this time in the scrog. Now tomorrow I’ll post my soil mixture on what all I blend and how I prepare my pots in the layer method, plus all what I put in there as well but I’m using @Donaldj soil suggestion Sunshine Promix #4 with mycorrhizae with Fox farm fertilizer 5-8-4 with active soil microbes, dolomite lime, perlite, Mykos and Azos but I’ll do a good blend this time cause for some reason I did not have a massive root ball from the last plant that I thought I should of gotten being in a smart pot , but I know this @peachfuzz design creates crazy massive roots. I’ll be using Sensitive Grow A & B as base grow nutrients and I have enough mammoth p to get started until I get some more in when I order the Meizhi 450 watt light and Remo nutrients this coming Friday plus my local guy said my Nectar of God’s sample bottles has arrive at the store so I’ll pick them up as well but I might not run them this run and I’ll be flowering with Fox Farm Tiger Bloom with Open Seaseme, Beastie Bloomz and Cha-Ching, plus foliar feeding with 13 Essentials, so this gone be a lot of using different additives and a Molly cocktail
of different nutrients to figure out what I can used and what I can eliminate altogether but I’m always pushing my grows to different limits. I think it’s exciting trying to figure out what’s better in sequence cause some brands has better this and others has better that so I’m trying to find my concoction mix that will be that super loud gasoline smoke.
Maybe you can put some pictures as well
Yeah I’ll do a weekly update on them but wait until you see how massive they get in these self wicking buckets, my last two plants was crazy but I added air stones late in flower the last grow when I used them but this time I’m using the air stones entire grow, plus I’ll be running Co2 the entire grow as well so I’ll try to give every detail in this thread that I think might help a lot of beginners like myself.
For me, pictures are like 1000 words. That I want to see your system.
I get crazy massive roots and plants in this design , I should of used it last grow but I wanted to see if the smart pots was good . Now compared to the two plants I grew before this last plant was I this self watering buckets and man a whole lot less labor , watering every 10 days maybe and the roots was insane and the plants was massive .
I’ll tag you in my last thread and I think my plants are in that thread so you can see them .
Just remember to keep your air pump out of the same area as your co2 or you will end up pumping co2 into your water which will be toxic for your plants and will also throw your pH out of whack…
Not sure what size of pump you have , but mine have an air inlet that I can attach a 1/2 inch air line to and run it out of the area to get freash air from where ever I want , maybe you can do the same , if you don’t have the option of putting the air pump outside of your tent … just trying to give you some ideas…
Can’t wait to see this tread … you know I’ll be watching…
Remember you told me that in conversation but that’s some of the adjustments I’m making this grow and I’m taking the Co2 bucket out the tent to have more room for the two buckets and maybe I can run all three , but I’m ordering the Meizhi 450 watt Led to replace the China 400 watt cause I don’t think it’s no where near 400 watts not even 200 until I can upgrade tent , but yeah I’m leaving pump outside the tent and Co2 bucket as well but I I’ll need humidifier in there for the beginning of vegging unless I can figure out how to rig that outside the tent . Again thanks @peachfuzz great information .
I was thinking about getting 2 meizhi’s for my veg for when I have overflow from my t-5 ho set up… I think I just lost 7 plants do to inadequate lighting waiting for space in the flower room… not entirely sure as of yet…
450 or 600 … which has more options and do they both have ir and uv… ?
My brother I think you should do one of each honestly, from my understanding based on a @fromanoc side by side grow off, the viparspectra was better in vegging and Meizhi was better in flower, so a 450 Meizhi with a 450 Viparspectra dimmable with the three dials not the on\off switch would be perfect for you.
Well my growing has come to abruted stop, so I’m done. Good luck to you guys and wish you all the best.
