Growing for the first time!

Hey everyone!

I’ve been reading a lot through this forum and have gathered a lot of information. Today i just started my first grow ever. So here is my set up:

ILGM Sour Diesel Auto
Mars Hydro 24"x24"x55" Tent
Mars Hydro TS 600 LED Ligh
Inline fan with carbon filter
Circulating Fan
Temp/Hum thermometer
5 GAL Fabric Pot
Light schedule will be 18/6 the entire grow
Organic Soil:

  • Coast of Maine Stoningtons Blend Growers Mix
  • Coast of Maine Seed Starter
  • Coast of Maine Buds & Bloom Fish Boan Meal (dry amendment during flowering)

As you can see, i am doing an organic grow and will only be adding water, i am trying to keep it as simple as possible for my first grow. I am germinating the seed directly in the soil in the final pot. I filled the pot with the stonington blend, and added about 1-2 cups of the seed starter soil in the middle to start the seed off so it grows into the stonington blend. I did this to avoid any transplanting.

My humidity is around 40% and the temp with the light on goes between 23-25 Celsius it seems. That might drop to about 18-20 when lights are off.

Hope you join me on this grow!

Nice start! You may have to top dress after a few weeks, but it’s easier than mixing nutes and pH’ing your water all the time. Good luck and happy growing!

I didn’t want to have to buy a humidifier, looks like i have to then?

exactly why i went organic! I’m hoping i only have to add the buds&bloom during flowering.

I am definitely watching your grow! I grow organic also. Our humidity sits at 25% in the winter. I hang two wet towels in the tent and can get it to 45%.

Humidifiers are on my list for cyber Monday deals today.

Best to you!

awesome, i guess i made a good choice. Have you had any issues with pest using this soil?

Yes fungus gnats but I get them with most soils not really a problem just a nuisance

@Aussie_autos I found a cool mist humidifier in the kids room so i am using that, haha. That should be good? need to do some testing and dial it in to try and get the humidity % required.

A inkbird humidity controler would help you out it will run the humidifier and once it hits that 60%rh it will shut off and kick back on once the humidity drops again so then the humidifier isn’t running non stop also make sure to use distilled or ro water in the humidifier nothing worse than using hard water and getting that white mineral dust everywhere lol

Thanks, totally forgot about the distilled water. I took it out for now and will use the wet towel method for now from @JaneQP
