Growing autos outdoors

U can start them inside and gradually go outside on good days if u want and if not long enough light bring inside under a light til they r able to stay outside without being moved. But yes u can start inside and move out or start outside and move in like @pr did with his one auto. Whatever works for u. Autos r picky but not usually with light schedules

Being an auto, if transplanting into a garden, should you get them into the ground before they start to flower?

I would.

Outdoor auto in Tennessee you should be damn near able to grow 9 months out of the year.
