Grow 4: Cherry Ice Cream!

Seed porn! My seeds from a galaxy far, far away arrived today. I got a bunch of ILGM seeds in this weekend. The ILGM seeds are fresher and fatter.

My biggest problem is narrowing down what plant.

Blue dream is an epic strain for sure. Nice counter too! :sunglasses:

haha…we splurged when we opened for business…gotta keep the first impressions up! If/when we ever close we have enough of this granite for a couple kitchens!

I ran 7 gals of clear water through the 4 girls at 7.0 pH and ppm was about 150…I don’t have my notes with me. Took readings and ppm is waaay better…low 1000’s for 3 and about 1500 for one…huge difference. So I made the decision to feed 1/2 strength Jacks and Sh!t…pH was 6.8. Will do the same 5-7 gal clear water flush and get readings and decide again to do 1/2 or full strength. I don’t see any new leaf issues on the one front Gold Leaf plant, so it seems I caught it early and we’ll be back to normal feeds for the end of the grow. Also the timer for main light and far red LED was still screwed up…but I got it now…I swear. lol Also did a much needed calibration for my Apera…was .2 off. It hasn’t been calibrated for months so I need to make it a point to do it once a month. I turned down the fan to 2 and will look at the temp graph throughout the day…seems I’m pulling too much outside air into the building and AC is running all day.

Nothing crazy today…checked on tent girls…they were happy to see me and they say hello to everyone here. Far red bulb timer is working now…not sure how well it will work when I’m halfway through flower, but it’s running anyway. Sucked the last bit of runoff out of the trays and said goodnight to them.

Outside Gold Leaf…ran Sledgehammer through it then fed full strength with some Fish Sh!t. Yesterday I noticed a couple leaves…directly opposite each other on one of the main colas…I pulled on them this morning and the bud broke in half…I knew what it was. I was just reading about it last week…WORMS! Little a$$e$…or a$$…I only saw one in the bud and no other yellowing leaves. I’ll keep an eye out for them now and Azamax is getting sprayed tonight on both of them.

Ordering carbon filter this morning…could smell the tent when I walked out the door. It’s time.

That is a most unwelcome guest. I’m very sorry to hear it. Hopefully it’s under control quickly enough and didn’t hurt to deeply.

Oh yeah…forgot to mention. After seeing hell’s root photos with the new woven pots (name? lol) I looked at the one pot I have in the tent that’s woven and sure enough there are roots sticking out of the pot…pretty much all over but mostly at the bottom half…way cool man. I like it. You can’t see that with the standard cloth pots.

Aaaand I ordered a controller 67…it’ll help with fan speed when lights are on. I turned it down yesterday when lights were off and helped with drawing in too much outside air. I got some toys coming…ahaha.

Meh…it’s all good. I can’t get too stressed over the outside girls…they were going to get tossed but decided to try my hand at outdoor gardening. I tell ya…they’ve been out there for 6 weeks maybe?..and been attacked by bugs the whole time. I have mad respect for the outdoor growers here…I don’t think I could do that full time.

That’s what I’m worried about. Yes you save money not running the miniature sun… but the uncontrollable…

Hard to control mother nature. Maybe it’s just that time of year? Spring is in the air and bugs are going crazy with all the new growth to chew on? I can’t imagine trying to grow a bunch 8 foot tall plants…would drive me crazy…lol

I read through an old outdoor thread with some of the most amazing plants I’ve ever seen. Here in New England there’s a lot of nature to contend with.

hahaha…he was! I was trying to get him to smile for me but he kept getting back down is his tunnel…I managed to get the top of his head…after about 10 photos…fighting bright sun, sweating, and sticky bud. lol

Yeah my outdoor plants get every pest you can imagine, spider mites, thrips, grasshoppers (more like leaf eaters), fungus gnats, aphids and the ants that farm them, caterpillars, cats messing with them, etc… They would never make it without weekly sprays of neem in veg and Capt Jacks Deadbug in flowering and then have to bud wash them after cutting down. Not doing any more outdoor grows for a while.

I was thinking about that this morning…not going to do it again for several reasons and bugs is the main reason. Azamax is tonight and will rotate between the two until the end. I don’t see how you can stop a caterpillar if they’re buried in the bud. And what is the name of those caterpillars?

All I can think about now is Bug’s Life…Heimlich quote “Some day I will be a beautiful butterfly and everything will be better!”

We call them budworms here, in my area they are cabbage moth caterpillars. Regular spinosad treatments will usually keep them off the plants.

That one must’ve been there before I started spraying then.

When you sprayed your buds…you get the buds pretty wet? I sorta misted them…not really sprayed them.
