Greenish color on top soil

A question from a fellow grower:

I CHECKED ON MY PLANTS WHEN I GOT HOME FROM WORK. THERE WAS A GREENISH COLOR ON MY TOP SOIL. I AM USING FF LIGHT WARRIOR SEED STARTER. ENLIGHTEN ME ON WHAT IT IS AND WHAT MY NEXT COURSE OF ACTION SHOULD BE

Just to get you started, for the guys with knowledge to have more info, did you fill out a Support Ticket? There are a number of threads that link to it, and give you the opportunity to describe your situtaion.

Without knowing your temp, humidity, growing environment, level of moisture / times of watering, it’s hard to say. Do you have a photo?

It sounds like algae, so you may want to look into that while awaiting others to respond.

Sounds like it might be green algae, and this means your soil is probably staying too wet.

It could also be a mold or fungus, again likely from the top of the soil staying too wet.

Hope these links help,

Well 1st; Quit shouting at us! It sounds like algae… Algae will form on the top of mediums that are exposed to light.
