Greenhouse lighting extension

Hey guys,

I need to know how to calculate the lighting needed in a greenhouse ( light extension ) for day length !
Example: ho mush light i need for a 35 square meter greenhouse ?? How much watts per square meter
Thank you in advance

There’s alot of different things to consider when figuring lighting, the old way was 30-50 watts per square foot but with the new high efficient LEDs you can get away with as little as 25w/square foot

Depends on the efficacy of lighting and how you plan to run them. There are methods that you can essentially activate lighting for short periods of time to keep photo period plants in veg. They need a minimum amount of radiometric energy for set period of time. I’m not familiar with exactly what these numbers are though, sorry. You should just look for some articles on day extension or cyclical lighting in a greenhouse, numbers you’re looking for should be there. If you can get to a point where you need to find lights with a specific radiometric output, I can probably help with that.
