And we off and running, 4/4 The little girls like the shot glass   :+1:. Tap roots range from 1/16-1/8", it’s 6:00 PM 3/15, tomorrow should be time to get them in new media, under some light, and on top of some heat.

@Deepsix Now that I’m a proud papa of quadruplets gonna need to get the nursery finished. I’m going to try something off the wall and a little different with my 2 Hydros, and I have 2 30gl. totes for a soil grow in the greenhouse. Reminder spring starts Thursday?

@Dhooter Strange but true, most would not know what a chicken tractor is but last week a teacher that Mrs. Cat subs for wants me to make him a small Chicken Coop tractor. I would put some ground cover cloth up thats what I’m going to do on the greenhouse to keep nosy neighbors away. It’s strong and lets light in. I’ll take a pic of mine and post for ya. :sunglasses: :+1:

Turned a friend on to ILGM and he bought these Durban Poison seed on a BOGO last summer. Never seen seeds take off like this, 2:00PM 3/16 tap roots are over 1" and I hope I didn’t loose one of the girls. She grew a tap and the cotyledon leaves and then jump out of the hull. I planted her anyway, I guess she wanted to go deep sea diving. This is the first time I let the girls go in just a soak, normally I use the paper towel method.

Thanks ILGM for the great seeds, if my brother from another mother seeds are half as good I know he will be happy.

Girl temp. condo. May be hard to see but the one thats peeking through is the one that tried to jump ship. 2:30 3/16.

Using a “croissant” plastic for a mini greenhouse. I have to put heat pad under because its going to get cold tonight.

@Fitme I’ve never had one grow a tap root and the cotyledon leaves then fall out of the seed. Time will tell if she makes it. You can see her in the bottom of the shot glass.

Just be extra careful holding it when you plant it will be fine

@dirtydave I used tweezers and was careful to lift with the cotyledon leaves, you can tell by the last pic of shot glass, she sank like a rock. The bottom right cube is where she landed.

Welcome to the world girls. 10:30 3/17

I think the top right cube is the one the little girl jumped ship.

The girls have sprouted but they look like they are starving for light. I tried to make a little greenhouse but the kitties were to curious. I decided to make a light box. I just hope its not to much.

Hardware consist of a power strip, timer, bucket, lid, pendant fixture and LED grow light.

Cut hole to secure pendant and set timer for 18hrs. LED shouldn’t get hot and only problem I can see is its only about 8" away. I can cut another bucket to raise it up if necessary.

Great minds think a like. I just saw the same thing on a fruit forum to keep an outdoor fruit tree safe during a freeze. Except turned over bucket.

Clever hack there.

Great idea. Also works to hold humidity in too. Nice
