I just ordered a Green Beams GB240 for my girls, everything about it seems legit, from diodes to driver. If anyone has any experience with this specific lamp I would love to hear and see your results. I would have loved an HLG I’m sure but this light has pretty comparable specs.
Looking forward to hearing what they have to say. I seen someone recommend it a post here somewhere in my countless hours of scrolling and reading. It took me a while to find the website where I could purchase it but it’s done . The wife wasn’t as excited about the new credit card charge but was on board with the upgrade. Im going to need my 2 girls in flower right now to give me a few oz to repay us for the care and attention they receive!! Lol
I had to order mine from growlightscanada to avoid customs and duties, the bill was $666! Wife was ok with it since she bought a bunch of stuff for her just before, so she couldn’t really say no to me!
Ouch, I’d be in lots of trouble if I spent $666 on lights. We’re trying to keep cost as low as possible until we start getting indoor returns, still buying flower and trim for smoking and waxing, haven’t done the outdoor in 2 seasons due to legal stuff. Another 6-8 weeks and we should have the first reasonable indoor harvest.
Yuppp I got on board with them, have two of the 240s in a veg tent and two 480s in a flower room, both work great. I think they’re prettymuch last year’s HLGs boards, same drivers etc, for significantly cheaper.
I can’t say I’ve flowered with the 240s since I’m doing larger areas, but it’s the same boards on them just 2 instead of 4, so I’m sure results will be the same per SQ ft. If I was gonna flower a 2x4 one of my 240s is Exactly what I’d hang in there
You’ll get your results for sure <3
I’ve only used a few different 100w lights for indoor as I’m usually only vegging inside for an outdoor size boost. So I’m hoping that some top shelf will come from the 2 best plants that we decided aren’t going outside this year. And lighting was a must.
This is my lady under the 240. She’s Purple Heart from Sunken Treasures.
The light is almost a direct replica of the HLG QB 288 fixtures - it was made to compete with the 300L. It uses slightly inferior diodes, but my plants don’t seem to mind much compared directly against my HLG 260XL (using 2 of the QB 288 boards, just like the GB 240). They essentially copied someone else’s’ work and research and made it more budget friendly. I am a proponent of HLG for taking the time and dedication to build superior products, but I’ll always be a proponent of high quality budget lights too. Consequently I love Green Beams, even knowing they didn’t do the hard work as much as other manufacturers.
Well, when I started indoors, my entire setup was around $700, cheap lights, a 4x4 Vivosun tent, AC fan and filter, timers, etc. Got 12.5 ounces of bud that costs about $100/ounce up here, so in my mind (and hers), I saved $500!
That light was only about 240w and still did well flowering my 4 plants. Now I have a 460w or so light, UVA, UVB, and IR diodes in it too, should be even better! And the wife said I could put the old light in our 5foot crawlspace for a veg area, meaning I can keep the tent for flowering!
I’m hoping so, I just got a email from them (green-beams) and it appears dad is not doing well so shipping was delayed a day. Appreciate the heads up from them. Family first is all my response to Corey was.
I live in the Mojave desert near Death Valley, soooooo much sun so they must me supremely healthy and only catch direct sun for the first 4-5 hours of the day and the. Get covered with a green shade, and misted regularly. Temps well over 100 sometimes 115-120 for about 7 months of the year. 2 outdoor harvests a year. MONSTERS the best overall has been when I did humbolt seed company strawcherry cheesecake and slightly Stoopid. 15 plants almost 20lbs dry.
The wooden stakes are 11’ above ground for a size reference. I did the grow in a hole 6’ deep by 35’ wide circle from an old pool someone sunk mostly underground, I poured a layer of clear expanding water beads (aka orbees) nearly 150,000 of them soaked them and let them expand, covered them with about 30 bags of FF ocean and frog, 5 bags of Perlite (3cu ft ea) I then took my plants that were 13 weeks old 18/6 lighting about 2 1/2 - 3 feet tall with no training, I kept the intensity of the lights way high for minimal spacing between nodes
