I dug around on the YouTubes and googles and found a variety of methods for cardboard box drying. It’s super simple as I imagined it would be, but seeing as how I’ve never used this method when working with my friends, I thought it best to make sure and do it right.
Here’s a video that I found interesting in two ways. First of all most videos/articles that I consumed didn’t mention about storage of boxes once the drying is finished. This guy made the fantastic point that once your finished with the dry box, you can keep the strings attached, collapse the box, and store it easily for next time!
This isn’t the exact method I’m going with. Pretty much the only difference is that I will have 1 or 2 disassembled 3 1/2” desk fans attached to mine.
Thanks for all the input folks! You all are great!
By the way I forgot my second point: why is this guy wearing a mask and exposing his tattoos??? Seems counterproductive. I Chose to share this video because the guy looks like he’ll sell you weed and then murder all of the camp counselors at Crystal Lake, but with sweet shades and 3/4 sleeves!
If anyone hasn’t checked out Mr Cunuk’s grow channel on YouTube, then please treat yourself. The production quality of his videos is superb for a grow channel!
Beautiful lake. Spent a lot of time there. Trying to get a feel for where you’re from. I’m in the NEK.
My last harvest was a small purple haze plant. I dried it inside a sealed paper bag. Did the trick. Smells and tastes just like one I harvested and hung in my veg tent.
I was referencing Friday the 13th with “Crystal Lake” haha. I’m in Eastern central VT born and raised. I frequently travel up through the NEK to stay at our camp in Pittsburg NH. I love the North Country man. Wish I could convince the wife to move up there.
I got the reference. That movie and Jaws always made me scared to go over my head in a lake as a kid, well, still a little bit maybe. Advrese Childhood Trauma.
Also forgot to mention the ladies are looking great!
The ladies received their first dose of Advanced Nutrients’ Big Bud yesterday at half strength (1ml/1L). The trichs exploded over the past 24hrs. Maybe normal, maybe the nutes. Here’s a couple pics I took before my fishing venture:
Jeez! It’s been a hot minute since I updated the ol’ journal. The ladies are doing just fine, no issues. I’m still feeding them AN Big Bud at half strength and the plants appear to be living it! Here’s a look at day 49 as of 10 minutes ago.
@hellraiser I know you use Advanced Nutrients. For this run I’m supplementing the depleted living soil with big bud (through week 5) and overdrive for the remainder of flower (through week 7). Having never run these nutrients, I’m curious as to how your feeding schedule would differ from the manufacturer’s recommended feeding schedule. For example, I’ve seen you post that you run straight water for the last two weeks, while AN recommends using overdrive through week seven of an eight week flowering period. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Overdrive is a P-K (Phosphorus and Potassium) supplement which can help create an increase in bud/trichome production and bigger colas during the flowering stage.
Keep in mind that different strains have different lifecycles. If you have a strain that is supposed to flower for 14 weeks, you’re going to want to continue using Overdrive for longer than 7 weeks.
Giving the plant just plain water for the last two weeks is a good way to get the plant to use up the remaining nutrients in the soil and its leaves.
Judging by the pistils in your photos, it looks like you have several weeks to go.
I’m trying to upload the Advanced Nutrients soil schedule, but it looks like the forum software is having issues with file uploads again. I’ll keep trying once in a while throughout the day.
Thanks for the info! All three of my plants are gorilla glue autos. ILGM says 8 weeks for flower. That’s where I’m getting the 8 weeks from. That feeding schedule would be awesome! Thank you
Breeder flowering times are always under perfect conditions. On average you can expect it to take 2 weeks longer. Just going by the photo with the white pistils, I would guess you have another 4 weeks to go. Once you see the pistils begin to turn brown and curl in on themselves, you will know harvest time is nearing.
Hey bud, depends of the flowering cycle of the strain I’m growing, For example, with my cherry - they take 10 weeks in flowering (nice when you know in advance) and I’m gonna give just water for last 2 weeks so for flowering weeks 2-6 they will be getting big bud, then move to overdrive for weeks 7 and 8. I know I want 2 weeks of overdrive before going water only so I just use more or less weeks of the bigbud feedings as needed.
