Good quality dimmer knob for hlg 260 xl?

This is the 2nd dimmer knob that ive gone through 1st one lasted about a year and second maybe 8 months before it causing my light to flicker and output lower par then it should, I’m wondering if someone has a recommendation on a good quality dimmer that would last at least 3 years

I’m going to tag a few people for you maybe they can help… if you don’t mind :sunglasses: lol imma do it anyway lmao @OGIncognito @MeEasy @Storm

Thank you Sir  @Storm you alright Bro

From what I know dimmers are a weak spot for all the light companies that is why alot of them have put a bypass switch or a way to disconnect the dimmer to allow the light to be at 100% not sure why hlg hasn’t done something like this but if there’s a more reliable dimmer out there @dbrn32 would be the person I’d ask

Edit = that is a good temporary fix, if I’m not mistaken if you just disconnect the dimmer the light default is 100% then you just use distance to regulate the intensity. Es made theirs a plug in if I unplug it it’s full blast

The dimmers used on home light switches last for years . But they are not small. I have Noticed the small external pots are not that good.

What driver do you use?? Mine ( 260xlr) has the dimmer built in to the driver.

None i know for sure will last that long. Electronics have all gotten to be cheap and shitty over the years. I use get what you pay for model but that doesn’t always hold true either. I ordered 20 for $6 years ago and only 6 of them were high end resistance to use alone and they have all failed since. The two i paid $8 each for as replacements still work fine. I tried to grab link from order history but they’re no longer available, sorry.

Correct! Open dimming leads will run light at 100% output.

Couple of my dimmers are weak also. They will give me 80% or so. If i need 100% i do like Easy says and just take them out of circuit to get max. Only issue I have with that is heat. Cant backem down and droppem to bring heat down.
