You mean like this
Yep, mine are like that too. Lol
yup like that
Yeah, last couple weeks is when the net/screen is most useful as the colas get heavier and start leaning over, after waking up to a bunch of colas laying on the floor, I went to screens years ago. I’m experimenting with a new technique that won’t require nets or tying plants up, will post about it in my journal.
Yup . This was the grow that turned me to screens. Walked in and found them laying on the floor
Liltle photo update. Were getting there slowly but surely. They are shooting out longer pistils by the day.
wondering if lowering the lights would help or that would just stress the plants out. im at about 24" @240W on these lights. The lux meter app I have maxes or my phone maxes at 32k so dunno what they are getting. I could try it on the ipad I suppose.
I also have jars of these super dense sticky nugs just from clearing out some of the lowers for air flow and overcrowding the last few weeks as well as when i culled #3 several weeks ago. I didn’t think they would amount to much however they turned out better than expected. Cant wait for the big mature buds to be ready.
Looking good. You could drop your lights a little bit, would not go much lower than 20" from the tallest tops, don’t want to burn them up so close to the finish line.
Thank you. And thank you for all your guidance. We appreciate you very much.
will dropping them help with the growth at this point? Or would I just run the risk of frying my pistils? They look pretty delicate?
It seems like every time I try to go lower the leaves get crispy on me.
It could help a little with the bud swelling and with trich and terpene development, a little more intense light can trigger the plants to generate some more sunscreen (resins and oils) to protect itself. You could lessen the impact on the leaves by moving the light a little at a time, like an inch a day, lets them get used to it instead of a big change at once in intensity. I sometimes end up with the lights at 18" or less when I let them get too tall (like my Blue Dream grow) with no real problems (bud bleaching, foxtailing, burned up buds, etc,).
ill drop them an inch and observe.
i was already around 19-20" on a few. i lowed some of the others 1" or so. It’s hard to get proper light height because the tops are all over the place
Nice looking buds you got growing brother!! Impressive work.
thank you!
Plant #2 got the chop today.
She was one of the smallest of the group but ended up having the hardest most dense buds.
Her trichomes were as cloudy as I have seen on any photo with the amber on some starting to actually turn brown. I examined her for a very long time before feeling comfortable making the decision. I am thankful for what she provided.
With experience I am sure I will be able to flower my plants and get max potency and yield without getting to the point where it starts to decrease in potency.
I really wasn’t seeing the root structure on this plant that I thought I would. there were no roots liek with the plastic pots wrapped around the onside of the cloth pit and it was more like a thick web of roots throughout the soil. I thought I would see the thick roots like i see on the top of the soil.
The others as pointed out look to need a good amount more time. hopefully they provide a plentiful bounty.
some plants were dry today. Sooo they got watered. my run-off numbers the other day with the feed-feed schedule were really high the second feed. So i am throwing a water only in there.
todays run-off
ph ppm
(1) 6.3 1000
(4) 6.3 800
(9) 6.3 1050
(12) 6.3 850
Plants are drinking slower after getting nutrients again. they were dry every other day but I was not giving a full two gallons. so. Back on track it looks like.
With plants finishing at different times I have the “where to dry my plants problem”. I have the recently harvested hanging on my side of the closet. I have moved some clothes to a different location.( hanging in garage) Notice I said my clothes. not the wifes. temps are 72 with rh ranging from 55-60 right now.
I am thinking I may be able to relocate the intakes on the 4x8 so that I can move the dehumidifier and turn the 4x4 into the drying room but the garage rh gets pretty low with that dehumidifier running. Possibly is I can hang some visqueen and split the room so I can keep the rh up on one side for the drying plants low on the side for the flowering plants. That is if any plants finish now before the others. Which they probably wont…
This is easily solved…sell the kids, clear their rooms and boom instant drying room
OR
Build another house out back and dry there…
OR
Do the brown bag method…
Or
Do what I did and get a weedryer
welp chopped plant 2. ( see above post) yesterday. Hung it up and Rh has been around 55-62. This evening I opened the closet to check and the buds look nothing like the photo above. pretty much light and airy. Worse than the larfy stuff cut off and hung in the same closet and dried. They Didnt dry out super fast and I left plenty of green on them. No fan blowing on them directly. clsoest fan 10ft away just keeping a breeze going in the room. got home from work after 7 hours and the rh in the closet was 61 I think.
They just turned to air. They went from the most dense tightly packed egg sized buds I have ever seen to nothing
Maybe I harvested to soon. I dunno. Other nugs off the same plant I trimmed a little earlier and hung turned out fine.
Mine turned out kind of like that. Once they were trimmed and cured a bit they weren’t very different then most weed I’ve come across but they didn’t become that super dense rock type bud I’ve seen before.
its strange. i have super dense buds right now from the other plant i chopped and random swag ish clipping and a few to test if I wanted to try a revege. so I don’t know. Maybe when I washed the plant after chop and hung it up to drip dry before going into he closet it stayed in the low rh area for to long. that’s all i can think. I hung oup some wet towels in there to bring the rh up to 62 constant last night and put a little steam in there and they seem like they may be better. I think they will harden up a bit when they dry and then go into the jars. If not. lesson learned.
Early chop chester.
buds look better today in the closet. got some wet towels hanging in there and hit it with some steam every once and a while to keep the rh up to 62 ish. but it drops down to 55 after a while./ they seem to have reconstituted themselves a bit.
The other plants are chugging along. some faster than others. some colas faster than others. Is it normal to harvest some colas before others or will the piss off the plant? I want max fatness so I’m in it till I get the ok to chop basically…
I managed to work some netting in there over some of the plants. Had to get something in there to at least tie off to or give some support. I found one branch bent in half this morning on a medium sized bud small sized stem and we cant be having that. Also seeing some of the big colas starting to lean.
I moved the lights down a a bit the other day and dont see any adverse reactions.
Some of the plants got watered today.
Some got fed some didnt. Run off and ppm right where I expected. 7-950 on the ones that got water only and around 1200 on the plant that got fed. The water only plants got two days of feed in a row. SO next watering will be food.
