For some reason, I’m reminded of the young bull and the old bull sitting on the hill overlooking a meadow full of cows. The young bull says, “Hey, let’s run down there and !@#$ one of those cows!” The old bull replies in a slow drawl, “Na, let’s WALK down and !@#$ 'em ALL!”
Seriously. I’m sure this is extreme on sprout time, but found some seeds in my moms freezer last winter, had to have been from my step dad, who died 6 yrs ago. There was a 35mm film container half full, I picked out twelve of the healthiest looking, and put in wet paper towels. I checked every few days for couple weeks, nothing. I figured they were just old seeds and dumped them all into wet paper towels, and nothing for two weeks. I gave up on them and forgot about them. Came across the bag couple more weeks later, and about 80% had spouted. Lol! I potted them all, wound up giving over 50 plants to friends and family
One is in my room now, and should have 6-8 oz of unknown limey-pine smelling sativa lookin buds!
I killed like 4 white widows and a strawberry kush doing thaT… Learned my lesson haha and if your prepared in the beginning…there’s not much to surprise you in the tent… That’s what I have learned lol
Holy shit those women hold on long… That long in the freezer and there still good to go… Just a little longer germ time haha
I first read it as crows and laughed and then read again as cows and laughed harder
I FIM/topped one today!
I’m horrible at this, probably blew it again! I pinched it hard, and that was probably good enough. But I second guessed myself and pinched again. And that was probably REALLY good. But no, I had to pinch again, and ended up taking some leaves.
Other than that, she looks short and fat.
The other one was actually planted a few days earlier, but fell WAY behind this past week after I transplanted her from a 2 gallon to a 3 gallon pot.
The one on top is the FIM, below is the lagging transplant.
Lookin happy👍🏼 I figured out after a few accidental decapitations that a quick firm pinch is enough usually for the FIM. Lol
Went ahead and FIMed my other one, and this time, just one strong pinch!

And here’s the first one, a few hours post-FIM/top, you can see where I punched leaves off on one side:
I am VERY psyched!! I just finalized the plans in my head for my new mother clone grow box! Pictures to follow, but it’s a one fan, CFL design with the light hood strapped to the top of a big, black garbage can. I’ll cut a 3" diameter hole in the bottom on the side, and attach a small, powerful fan to the outside of the can (the weight of the fan will rest on the ground, but be zip tied to the can), and another 3" hole on the opposite side at the top. The reflector and light fixture holds 4 CFL bulbs, including up to two 42W and two 13W (size considerations), so a healthy 110W of mixed 27K/65K CFL light should be plenty.
I still have to paint the inside of the can white, stencil and cut the holes, and zip tie all the parts in place, but everything’s ready to go! I even have this tape that’s like duct tape, but it’s black mesh, for repairing screen doors. I’ll put that over the holes to help keep in light, and fix some kind of reflectors to keep the rest of the light away from my 12/12 cycle lights in the rest of the tent.
Hope to have it done, with pics, by the weekend, we’ll see how close the results match what I’ve described!
Sounds like a solid plan. Can’t wait to see it!
Here’s the basic idea:
Unfortunately, the 42Ws are too big, and four 13Ws aren’t enough light! I’ll have to find some 20W bulbs or something that’ll fit inside the hood and still get me close to at least 75W!
Or, wait, WOULD four 13W lights be enough? 52W, I think that might be enough to keep a mother clone alive! In fact, I think I read that 50W is the bare minimum that would work, I don’t have to worry about size, and in fact, I want it small, I just want it to keep producing clones. So problem solved, I switch the 42s for two more 13s strap it all together and we’re done!
The light fixture has a small hole that runs all the way through the center, so I’m just gonna run a single, extra-long bolt through there with a big washer, drill a little hole straight out the top of the lid, and that’s all I’ll need to hold it in place!
I cut out a piece of styrofoam to act as a buffer to fit the fixture flush against the hood with the extension cord plugged in.
And lighting problem solved! Remembered I had some mid-size bulbs, so that’s two 23W 2.7K reds and two 13W 6.5K blues, 72W of mixed light should be plenty to keep a small mother clone alive in perpetuity!
Looks good to me so far! I’d run it empty for a few hours to see what temps it runs.
Ran it for an hour with fan on low, 74 degrees inside! The ventilation works better than I thought. Gotta get the inside painted white and it’s pretty much done! Gotta fix dinner, hope to have it done and some pics up later tonight . . .
