Driver 1 = Vero29 70V + 12v fan
driver 2 = vero 29 70v + 12v fan
driver 3 = vero 29 70v
driver 4 = vero 29 70V
driver 5 = 2x Citizen 1212 AMBER cob 36v
around 250 watts? 200 if no citizen?
190USD shipped. @rapidled with holder for citizen and pokein chips for vero
thermal adhesive? 10$ shipping. comes down to 139USD without citizen
I had came up with that from rapidled (their shipping is 10$) price is interesting without citizen’s, kinda high with them

What is color temp and cri?
Also, take a peek at that future lighting solutions in Canada. I bet they’re competitive.
If you end up going rapid, I think mike still giving 10% off first order too
Sub that amber 1212 for either 1750k or 2700k vero 18. Should cut cost of cob in half.
3500k 80 cri, see if future lighting has them cheaper then 33$

Also, see if they have 90cri. You’ll like them a lot more than 80cri.
looks to me that future lighting is 50 minimum order

Check for something like the 3000k or 2700k 90 cri. They are weird like that. Some will be moq 1 others will be moq 100

Also, look at the se model vs the standard gen7. Part numbers are different, but it’s the same led. The se just comes with built in solderless holder.

Ground is 7.50 and prioritty via fedex is 15$. would only need to get two 36V vero’s from there and then some tools and boom.
Edit : damn the 36V veros are pricey compared to citizens from cobkits lol. ill look for somthing cheaper on their site.

Awesome! Did you try subbing for the vero 18 36v instead of vero29? They should be like $8-10. Also, if you got 3000k 90cri in the big chips, you could certainly check for something like 3500k or 4000k in 80cri for the smaller ones.

Like doing it all at 36V with vero 18? Im thinking at 750MA would be about same efficiency right? correct me if im wrong.

The 69 v vero 29 is more efficient than any of their 36v cobs watt for watt.
You said that the 36v cobs were expensive, I was assuming you were looking at 36v vero 29 and not the 36v vero 18 is what I meant.
But if you’d rather do all 36v and do twice as many that’s fine with me. Should work out either way.

I had just started looking at those a few weeks ago. Did you see cost on them?
My assessment so far is that 34-35 volt at 1200ma puts you into the 40ish watt range. They list typical ppf at around 70 umols per second at that drive current. When we figured @Bogleg ’s citi 1212 at 37ish watts his ppf was around 83-84 at little less power. Ppf per watt looks to be a little better even with the smaller citi chip.
But if that sunplus is reasonably cheaper or all you have acces to, it’s certainly looks to be better than the epistar stuff.
