Hi everyone… I was not happy with the last soil I used for my grow that is now soon ending I’m still slightly new definitely not a nubi… just had a hard time with ph control and it seemed to not hold nutrients very well after the first 4-6 weeks. Fox farm happy frog was the soil… I’ll show some pics at the end minor to moderate tip burn after 5 weeks and I couldn’t get a fix on it
Anyway I’m here to ask advice on some good soil products you all recommend
Thanks in advance
Super lemon haze
Sorry still getting pics down

Sorry to hear about your rough start. The FFHF is a great amended soil that’ll need nutrients around 4-6 weeks. Not sure I understand your statement of it not holding nutrients, are you meaning what you add? If not the plant is slowly depleting the amended nutrients. I learned the hard way how critical PH is. What is your watering and feed routine, PH and PPMs of the nutrient or water source input and the run off of these?

Your plant looks fine too me a little tip burn means you right at the max feed where most people want to be.

I’m still learning some about run off testing and really fine tuning thing everything was fine till the 5-6 week and my ph dropped low 5 and run off was even lower 4.5/4 I looked op the ppm numbers range was good between 150-180 run off used fox farm trio food bloom big grow followed directions and made what I thought from research practical adjustments led lights tf 1200s full spectrum feed every 4-5 days water the rest.
Used ph up and nothing happened
Don’t get me wrong they are rather healthy I just am a perfectionist and I’m frustrated why I couldn’t figure it out.
I read about leds and some of the problems if not used probably but it don’t account for the ph mystery.
Besides that I don’t do much except stress training at times.
Thanks … that seems to be what most people say but just don’t understand the ph sway so Severely that even ph up didn’t help

What water are you using and what ph meter do you use may need to be calibrated
Tap water and I let it air out chlorine usually tests 6.5-7 have a to-3 ph meter just got it a month ago
So I use ff soil my question is did you Flush after week 4-6 and then again around week 8-10 if Not you will get salt build up and that will lower your ph to around 5. I’m speaking from personal experience. Using ff soil and ff nutes you have to flush

No I have not done that at all. But I did decide to stick to mostly water till the end.
I was thinking ff ocean mix next. It has fixed ph
So you saying your tap water is around 7 then you mix your nutrients and your ph drops to 5 something so you add ph up and you can’t get it to move up. You need a better metter

Well she looks good now but if she starts showing any deficiencies go ahead and feed. Also I don’t the the size of your pots but never to late to flush. Also there is no Actual Science on flushing before harvest 2 weeks out, just bro science.
On mixing ff soil I use ocean forest for most of the middle to bottom and happy frog on top. Mix that with about 20% perlite for drainage, and should be good to go. I have had good luck with that

Also I agree with @danniep40 above don’t see much ph issues. Here’s a good pic of ph issues like said own personal experience. You can see how the leaves are just dying and fallen off. Look at the floor of tent I had just crunchy and dead leaves falling off

I did some reading on led lights what I use and they can have a tip burn effect and with too much light I hear it can create a potassium problem but the ph is low in the soil not the mixture I put in last 8.86 ph mix tested few hours later and was only at 4.5./5. That’s why I’m puzzled

Are you testing your soil with one of those probes or are you testing your run off ? Or a slurry test ?
