From a fellow grower: If i put the seed straight into coco does it need to be kept in the dark in a warm place until it 1st sprouts before going under a florescent? Or does it go under light from the moment I plant the seed in the coco?

It can be under your grow light if you wanted to but not really necessary. Just watch for it to sprout and once it does you can turn the light on. Or leave it on the whole time, it’s up to the grower

I’m sure particles of light penetrate a inch or two into the media. Honestly having a small cfl above them might help with seedlings “getting lost” or flipping over and growing the wrong way

If you make them flip over to grow the right way they will usually come up helmet free.
