I just have a simple question cause it seems to be unclear answers when you research it. Whn you plant the seeds in the soil should they be kept in the dark or should there be light put on them at that point?

I grow in soil and plant directly 3 gal pots and I put a light above on 18/6 even before the seedlings pop up.

I have my light on to maintain temps but it’s not necessary until they break through soil

I figure the soil is like a curtain. At some point before you see it peeking thru the soil there’s some light getting thru to it. If I have to rationalize it, do as is in nature. Lights on.

Lights on because thats what it is like outside and also because it warms the soil promoting germ.
