Germinating outdoors

can/should i start seedlings germinating outdoors? i sowed PP cbd kush and gorilla glue AF in march under lights at 16/8, moved outside at 2 weeks where it was 13/11 and EVERYTHING flowered, although i did get some nice buds. this was my second grow, last year did the same thing with PP pineapple punch with no issues.

so should i drop my light cycle and do it indoors for 2-3 weeks again, or just start everything outside?

i am in Houston, very hot/humid, on a drip system so no water issues.

hey fellow Texan… in most situations if you are going outside and the weather is extreme like where you are then it is best to start them outside so they grow into the environment instead of inside and then get thrown into the environment…just my 2 cents… :cowboy_hat_face:

I like indoor starts for my tomatoes, peppers, broccoli, and weed. Then out when the weather is kinder and plants can take it.

thanks - old guy here as well! any other tips you can pass for growing in this environment are welcome! my first grow was last year with free seeds - a mix of m and f so i had to germinate a couple dozen and sex them out, settled on one plant and got 1.5 lbs - i made a LOT of friends, family, and even friends of family happy last Christmas!

Hey my cousin, who turned me on to weed back in ‘69, used to through out a hand full of seeds just downhill from his outhouse! Those were some big plants!

Yoooo neighbor! I’m just east by over off of the ship channel at the end of 225. I put all my autos out as soon as I transplant them from solo cups. 2-3 weeks. I’ve been putting them out as they’re ready since 4/20 and for the most part, they all boomed! Put one out last Thursday morning that was 4" tall. It’s over a foot already. I haven’t done photos outside yet as I’m afraid to put one out and it end up 6 or 7. Feet tall.

ok @Retiredoldguy and @Borderryan22 - since we are all here - what are your favorite strains to grow in this supet hot and humid climate? i settled on gorilla glue for auto flower, also have a kush cbd pp just for grins. last year the July week of 100+ really knocked my pineapple punch and dosido cookies down, but i put up sunshade and saved the pineapple punch and in fact it was better because it thinned out the thick underbrush and improved air circulation, and i got 1.5 lb from it.

and also - do you use sunshade over them in peak summer? and how late can you plant your last AFs? October?

So, I really only have a year of growing experience. I know the GSCE Autos I’ve done outside did really well in our region. I have White Widow and a Knows Candy Autos going that freaking boomed when I brought them out. The KC grew 2 feet about 20 days. It’s been really dry, though. We’re about to get into some humid days so we’ll see how they hold up to it. But I wouldn’t put them out later than beginning of August, in case they take longer to finish. Oh, I also start mine inside and put them out when they start throwing pistils.
