From a fellow grower: My gdp plants are now 15” tall and only have 3 sets of leaves, not one branch, like a trimmed palm tree. I’ve never seen a plant look like that with virtually no lateral branching.
Plants stretch like that when not properly lighted and do so looking for more light. How many hours of direct sunlight is the plant getting each day?
As @MidwestGuy said it looks like your plant is wanting more light to slow down the vertical growth and encourage the side branches to grow you can top or FIM
Agreed, this is from low light intensity or abundance of far red/nir light. Plants behave same way in either condition.
Grower says they are getting enough light, giving them the soil and nutrients below. We’ve had a record breaking wet spring , along with occasional hail. So I have a garden cover that lets 75 percent of the sunlight through. when its sunny, the plants are moved into full sunlight.
Still stand by not enough light for cannabis.
Leaves show no evidence of nutritional deficiency. Shaded sunlight is not enough for cannabis. At this point it may need to be staked if it takes off. All day direct full sunlight.
Never seen a plant stretch like that with good lighting. We see this exact look in plants growing a window where it is exposed to sunlight but not directly “IN” the sunlight.
More sunlight please they say!! Bonus for you is they are in pots, so move them to an area where they will get the most sunlight. Early morning sun is the best im my opinion. You want to try and get 8 hours on them. I know we all have our hurdles, and fortunate for you you are mobile and able to move them.
Right.
@ILGM.Support this is what plants in “enough sunlight” grow like.
Enough light in one’s opinion does not always constitute as enough light for the plant to grow properly.
I’d like to know how the grower defines as “enough light” too. Just a day or 2 ago we had a newer grower swear that T5 lighting would flower cannabis based on what someone told the grower. There’s plenty of bad information that floats around out there.
I know of no other cause for the spindly appearance other than lighting.
