Full light last 48 hrs before cutting

So the bro science suggests to leave the plant in the dark for 48 hrs before cutting for harvest. This myth has been busted proving that it stops the enegy of the plant. What if it went the opposite direction and we gave the plant full energy for its last days to boost the energy spent flowering. I don’t know just a theoretical thought.

From my understanding of that the terpines in a plant are dimenished from lights up to lights out each day and are replenished during darkness. Thats why plants tend to have a heavier smell at the start of the day. The terpines are a defense mechanism to detour animals and bugs and they start releasing it from dawn to dusk. So by keeping the lights on 24 hours the last few days youre essentially reducing her smell and flavor come harvest and cure.

There is a Bruce Bugbee video out there that discusses this in detail. Indeed, if you remove a plant’s light source, then you are removing the plants energy source to grow and maintain trichomes.

I don’t believe it would make a difference.

I chop when I am ready to chop. If that is mid-light cycle, so be it. But they stay on cycle till I chop.

I’ll take Dr. Bugbee as the grow bible. Nobody has come close to the resume he has put together since the 1970s being hired by NASA to develope the capabilites of growing food in space.

No bro science was ever done at the level of testing that Dr Bugbee has done in controlled environmental space.

I have learned so much from Bugbee. Absolute must watch for any grower.
