Yep. Just pick out the big chunks from enough to cover your seed. That way it doesn’t have to push a log out of the way to break ground.

Which strains have you had success growing straight in OF?? I’d like to choose something with strong genetics and isn’t too finicky for my next grow, but am afraid OF will burn right through some of the more sensitive strains.

There can be nute sensitivity issues with autos versus photos, or with some phenotypes, but there’s no real difference between the sensitivity of the various strains. The primary differences between the strains is limited to cannabinoid content (THC, CDB, CGN, CBG,…) and terpine profiles.
If you want to avoid cannabis sensitivity to nutes then choose photoperiod plants versus autoflowers.
