The Coco Loco or the Cultivation Nation?
I know it’s not the Coco Loco - I forget, but it’s supposed to be 70% coco, 30% perlite. Autopot says to have 50% of perlite in the mix, but I already have more in the house so I’ll just add.
Its all about where you buy the soil. If its stored outside longterm, I wont buy it. If the bag has a hole in it, I wont buy that either.
My Bruce Banner plants foxtailed hard at the end so watch the light intensity and nitrogen last few weeks of flower.
I must have bought it from a hydro shop, I forget which one. I ordered it on line so I can’t say where it was stored, but likely a warehouse?
They are finally opening a hydro shop near me, so hopefully I can buy in person in the future.
I’m surprised they are actually opening, since growing is no bueno in my state, though recreational is legal. I’m trusting they will get around to fixing that goof in the law, tis stupid.
I didn’t bother getting my medical card due to the costs involved although my GP told me to start smoking weed for my anxiety. (Thanks, doc, gotta love the new graduates!) If they change the law to allow growing for medical patients, I’ll buy whatever license I need to do so.
I’ll remember about the foxtailing, I had to cut the intensity on Sally because she was starting that nonsense on me. Thanks!
Hydro stores arent just for weed, there are alot of people who grow prize winning watermelons hydroponicly.
The one I go to sells mushroom propigation stuff also. Hydro stores are the best!
I grow jalapeños with the same stuff I grow weed. I’ve also got a number of small house plants like lucky bamboo, a money tree, an elephant ear, etc etc, that all get fed Jack’s when I water em cuz they seem to like it just as much as my cannabis.
My hydro guys definitely are aimed at growing weed, but they have enough stuff there to set up an outdoor sprinkler system, a tomato garden, or whatever other traditional gardening desires you may have. Easy enough to carry canna-friendly products while “focusing” on “other” hydroponic applications.
So nice and fat
Thanks! I’m pretty happy with her. I sure learned a lot!
Not sure if it stays this way til chop but when a plant gets pollinated it automatically stops producing anything for buds and goes into making the seeds part. Not sure if it stays focusing on seeds the rest of the time or if it goes back to bud production but all the pla ts I had that had an accidental pollination never seemed to finish right either. Was still super good smoke but not like the plants that were grown and had no pollen put to them
I went over her with a fine tooth comb last night, and I couldn’t find a bug anywhere. I looked at that particular branch especially closely. So who knows what artifact that is, but apparently not an infestation.
Whew!
Definitely they do. With certainty, the pollinated colas don’t bud the same. Still look like they’ll make for some THC-heavy infusions, but nothing worth smoking by itself.
Amen to that. It looks sort of like calcium peeling off the leaves. I’ve seen it when people use milk to foliar feed their plants (not sure that’s a best practice to take from the proverbial toolkit, but I’ve seen it). It looked like a non-issue, but I’m glad you confirmed with a thorough check
I wouldn’t be surprised if it weren’t a wee bit of DE still hanging around also. And I have a LOT of calcium in my tent, I have fairly hard water.
Likely not Madame Tussauds wax waving wraiths.
Whew is right! Cool!
That’s my bet!
Ahhhh, very cute indeed! In a couple weeks, it will be two years since I sprouted my first weed plant. That’s where I get my screen name from - on Dec 1st (2020), I first saw those little baby weed leaves staring up at me!
Awww, the babies are so cute! And that’s a good name origin story - mine is my actual nickname. My husband barely remembers my legal name.
Ah, that’s great!
Day 61F. Not bad color for in tent shots. She’s showing her fall colors now. She’s a pastel purple and prettier than I had any right to expect. I pulled my back today so may put off chopping a couple more days, but absolutely before Thanksgiving.
Sorry about that! Hopefully it gets better soon!
Sally looks great!
Thank you! She looks really done.
All pistils curled in
and bottom leaves
turning yellow. She smells nice, kinda flowery, but no where near as stinky as her sisters, which is fine given company in a week.
