My photo plants were a success thanks to the great people here, but I have never grown autos either. Does this look ready? And quite honestly the plant next to it is the same seeds but planted 3 weeks later. I find that so odd, even the color

Had the same thing pretty much happen. Same strain, one topped out at under 2 feet tall, other finished at almost 4. The taller was younger also.

You have to look at trichomes not the plant

Very hard to see with the grow lights on.
Turn your grow lights off and use your flash.
Take new pictures.
Also you will need to look at tricombs like @Caligurl said, a USB microscope is a tool you should order.
