First time grower long time stoner. I grew up in California where great bud was too easy to get. Relocated to a cannabis prohibition state last year so starting my own grow was essential.
My setup is a 2x2x5 Mars hydro tent kit. It has a 4” 205 cfm duct fan and carbon filter. With a ts600 led light. Fan and filter are located outside of tent to allow for max vertical space. Also I have a 6” clip fan for additional airflow.
I’m growing in a 5 gallon fabric pot in ocean forest soil, planning on introducing fox farm nutes around 4 weeks.
I have a Scrog screen setup in tent I plan on either topping or fimming when the time comes.
First grow is gorilla glue seed from msnl.
Germinated In water glass. Then planted straight in pot( will transplant from smaller pots next grow).
Plant is 10 days from sprout. I think I overwatered initially. I have allowed pot to dry out for 4 days will water today.
Welcome @Dmicmac50 to the forum. If you can repost your pictures, they didn’t load, watch the bottom right when posting and wait for them to upload to 100% and are Done. Before you submit your post.
Need to see what you have going on.
Looks good so far.
Wonky leaves are common on little plants but it will grow out of it.
Watch node spacing and adjust light accordingly. If you want a little more space then dim or raise the light a bit. So far you got it going well.
They are looking good . Nice job on your setup.
I could add at this point is to cover the top layer of your soil with some washed sand to create a barrier between your soil and your plants. Bug love the organic soil to lay their eggs and get nutrients. Not to say I see any bugs, just a precautionary step to prevent any going forward.
How is your TS6000 setup? How far is your light from your canopy?
You should have them at 18” until they are a few weeks old. This will encourage a bit of stretching and open up the node spacing.
Also I would move your circulation fan down to the canopy level. Above the canopy is pushing the hot air down in your plants. I like to move the air at and a bit below canopy to circulate fresh air from the bottom and let the heat rise out of the top of your tent. Hopefully your are pulling air out and the top and in for the bottom of your tent.
Relocated fan to 18” I was worried about it being too much for the little plant. Also moved the fan to canopy level. The three way meter I’m only using as a bit of a moisture indicator. It came with my digital ph pen so I thought I would use it for something.
About three weeks from sprout. Light is 20” above top of plant. Watering every three days. Temp is stable at 28.5* C rh 50. Not sure what’s going on here. Bottom leafs are nearly dead. Droopy. New growth has yellow on the leafs edge… Any shared knowledge is appreciated. Not sure if it’s just overwatering. ( will start in smaller pots next time) I haven’t watered in 4 days. I stuck my finger in the soil about 2 inches and it feels the slightest bit damp. Don’t know if I should wait if it’s an overwatering issue. Also not sure if it’s a PH issue. Just got my digital ph meter before last watering. Measured the water I had been using it was at about 7.5. Last water was 6.5. Trying to figure out the best way to move forward
Gg is a finicky girl on ph. They seem to react fast to changes. Just stopped that strain for a change. Look pretty solid from here. Can pull those first leaves that yellowed from the soil. Ph was my main issue with nutes and that strain. Get her in the 6.3-6.5 or so is what worked on mine.
She is almost a month from sprout. From what I’ve heard ocean forest should contain enough nutes to get her through a month of growth. I planted directly into soil is that a month from sprout? Or a month after seedling phase. I will be starting her on the fox farms trio just not sure if it’s too soon. Any info is always appreciated. I’ve been keeping the lights about 22” away to try to get her to stretch a bit. Temp is staying between 27* and 29* C.
And for topping/fimming as you see I will be scrogging her. Just wondering when counting the nodes do I count fan leaves? Asking because I have pinched off a couple lower fan leafs that were dead from touching the soil. Should I count that as a node? I’m thinking I will fimm when she gets to 7th or 8th node.
I cant remember who it is, but one grower measures the runoff and when it gets lower than 1000 ppms he begins feeding. Start Fox Farms nutes at 1/4 strength and increase to 1/2. Some stay there and others move up to full but let the plants tell you. If colors fade increase and if the tips of the leaves burn decrease.
