I bought autoflower seeds because they were supposed to be smaller in size to prevent outgrowing my tent. But these plants grew like crazy when the roots hit the living soil. My light is at its maximum height and I’m noticing pistil burn. Is there a way to bring these lights up any higher?

Try to gently bend them over this may help

How are you determining this? Pistols change to an orangish hue and then naturally shrivel back into the bud as it matures. That’s when a lot of us begin to study the trichomes.

From what I’m seeing your doing a great job I would defoliate to increase air flow and light penetration and like others said some super cropping to even the canopy welcome to the community and great job

The light was on 100% intensity and only 6" away from top colas. The only place I noticed the different pistil colors was closest to the light. So I assumed it was starting to burn.

You may be ok. Plants mature from the top down.

Couple things here.
Running long light schedule like this can extend veg period if auto genes are recessive. Looks like they’re flowering out ok, but you can always reduce light to induce flower once mature if need be.
This is like passive hydroponic system, it will create more rapid veg growth, which will lead to larger plants in shorter periods of time.
How are your lights hanging? A lot of times factory hangers can be replaced with ratchet hangers doubled over from one side to the other and get a little more height.

Are you familiar with Lst techniques? Like mentioned above, taking those longer colas and simply tying a string to them to just pull them down some or pulling them out of the way so you can lower your lights to get a more even spread will help all the way around with deeper penetration.
Do have a parr meter or app like photone? It will let you know if youre in the right ppfd or in the ballpark anyway. Making plant and light adjustment much more straight forward taking the guess work out.

I never thought of these self watering pots as being similar to hydroponic. It does make sense as to why they grew so big so quickly. I bought those to simplify my grow. I already have the ac infinity ratchet straps. I didn’t know if there was another method of getting the lights a bit higher.

Its more like an autopot than a hydroponic system. But the autopots are more like a hydroponic system than a typical organic soil grow. You have neither interruptions in nutrient supply or oxygen, so plants are typically vigorous in this type of environment.

I tried a little lst 4 or 5 weeks into veg. I snapped a stem so I stopped immediately. I will try tying down the top colas. Thanks
