First harvest is official!

First harvest with many more to come! Just cut the Trainwreck down officially. Definitely can’t wait for this to dry and to be put in grove bags for curing so I can start up my next grow. Lots of help from this community through my new grow experience. Thanks to all!!

Currently drying between 45%-50% RH
Keeping temps in my dry tent at 65F
Hang-drying for 8-10 days. Bought a grove bag so many have made recommendations for over jars. The bag is a bit big though for my one plant grow lol.

Congrats on making it to harvest. Great looking buds

Thank you! I have a lot of respect for growers growing more than one plant because they can be a bit of work. Well worth it and how liberating it feels to grow my own bud and not have to rely on a sketchy dealer. Very rewarding!

Great harvest! I try to aim for 55-60% humidity for drying. Makes for a nice slow dry. I aim for around a 10-14 day dry until the branches have an audible snap when you bend them. Dont need to break in half, but should make the sound. Again great harvest!

Looking good…great to cross the finishline. Now you have to wait for that cure, but it is all worth it.

Believe me, I plan to wait it out the full 3 weeks of curing! Can’t wait to grow again in the next 12 days.

The 3 weeks you mention?? Probably not long enough to cure fully.how are you going to cure??

Missed the grove bags. 4 weeks in bags and they can be smoked 8 weeks for cure…thats my experience with the bags over the last 3 cures.

I was originally going to cure them in jars with a boveda pack and bought special lids that tell me temp and RH. But will save those for long-term storage. I got the grove bag because many people on here and other sites have recommended it! So basically I gotta wait 8 weeks to smoke? If it’s well worth the wait, I’m definitely ok with waiting! No rushing this

My experiences are 4 weeks to smoke smoth and 8 weeks to cure. You will notice a difference after 4 and 8 weeks. But i pull an ounce at 4 weeks and start smoking it. At 8 werks it is better. Im a big believer in the grove bags!!!

I never knew a thing about grove bags till this week, but it makes me more hopeful since they’re supposed to be mold resistant.

So you know the moisture levels in the buds is criticle to a proper cure and Rh llevels in bags.

From my understanding, the idea of curing is for moisture from the core of the bud to slowly release through the rest of it? Also from what I had read it helps make for a smooth and tastier smoke too. Does it also enhance potency as well? Grove bag advertises you don’t need humidity packs, so assuming the grove bag will do the work as well.

If you want, you can start the seeds now. I didn’t want to wait to get the next batch going so I germinated seeds a couple weeks before what i estimated the harvest date to be.
I made a little space for starting seeds and hung a veg spectrum light over them. It gave me a head start and shortened the turnover.

Congrats on the harvest. Feels good doesn’t it!

Literally itching to pop another plant up! I may go
Pick up some things today just to get it started. Thanks for the insight and it feels great to have a first harvest. Not having to rely on anyone but myself for it!

I know an improper cure can reduce quality. Have you read about the "moisture Meter???

That’s probably something I should read in it sounds like because I definitely haven’t. Before the grove bag when I was gonna use my jars, the lids tell me the RH and temp both on it. But as I mentioned these will be used for long term storage now.

Ill tag you on the thread on the bags and meters. Well worth reading. The bags and meter used as a team was a game changer for me!

I call it chop n drop day. Knowing my bean will be in the supersprouter for 2 weeks, works perfect on timing for the 10-14 day dry. Clean the tent and move the baby in.
