First Grow ww auto might have hit a bump

Hello marijuana enthusiasts
recently joined the forums. started my first grow a couple weeks ago and it seems we hit a bump.
everything was looking great until the last couple of days where the seedlings have stopped growing.

im gonna add a support ticket and post some pictures as well. hopefully i can get the little ones back on track

How many plants: 3

Age from Sprout and Flower: today is the 7th day from sprout

Soil in pots, Hydroponic, or Coco / Brand and type of Soil & Size of Pots: Ciemhus soil (best i could find where i come from) 5 gallon pots

PH of water and runoff or solution in reservoir: first few days did not have a PH meter so watered with distilled bottle water. last couple waterings used PH water.

What is strength of nutrient mix? EC, or TDS: flower power nutrients, have not used yet.

Indoor or Outdoor: indoor

Light system, size and height from plants: 2 viparspectra 450 W started at 40 inches, lowered to 34 yesterday hoping it would help

They may have seemed to have stalled, but what is really happening is they are developing their roots.

Things to watch. Do not over water. Many people think because there not growing that they need more water.

Keep temps and humidity stable.

I don’t grow in soil, but sometimes your soil may be to hot, which can cause the stall too. Maybe some soil growers can help you on that one.

Happy growwing. :sunglasses:

I’m am a newbie on my first grow with girls at 28 days from seed (ILGM WWs and GLs) so I’m not sure I’m qualified to comment. I use Fox Farm Ocean Forest soil mixed with Happy Frog but otherwise our set ups are very similar. One thought I had was to water farther away from the actual seedling as someone advised that encourages the roots to find the water and create a stronger root system. I’m sure all will be fine as everyone here is super helpful. Happy growing!

I agree with @MAXHeadRoom. Those are large pots, and roots will wander quite a bit. You’ll see very little growth while that’s happening, but they’ll take off once roots are established.

For the time being, don’t water so close to the plant. Do a ring closer to the outer edge of pot, that will make roots go find the water. Otherwise you’ll be fine.

@MAXHeadRoom , does “too hot” mean the pH is off or is there some other parameter that defines “too hot”?

Soil producers put nutrients in there soil. There should be a NPK value on the bag you bought. It will have three numbers. example. 5-6-7 .

So when someone says you have hot soil, it means the NPK value of the soil is high or to high for the stage you are growing in.

Hope that helps :sunglasses:

Thanks @MAXHeadRoom @dbrn32 @Momtomask for your replies.
soil still fairly moist so wont be watering today but next watering will do the outside ring as you mentioned.
will keep this grow updated in here

one more thing, the flower power nutrients i have comes with a nutrient for the seedling stage, should i give it some of that, 1/4 dosage, or hold off for now.

I’m not familiar with that stuff at all, but I’m going to guess no. Generally speaking the little round leaves have enough to feed the plant at this stage. But it may be a rooting hormone that would probably be ok to use. I would suspect @garrigan62 may know.

@vegetarian

What is it that they sent you for the seedling and the NKP on the package
I can’t say anything without knowing what it is that your using.

They are using flower power line of nutrients @garrigan62
I was looking at the soil company website is that a coco based line of soil @vegetarian

@garrigan62
its the nutrients i got from ILGM
NPK is 11 40 13

@Countryboyjvd1971
on the bag it says its composed of white and black peats

No it soil phd at 7 :+1:

I’m not clear on how old these plants are ?
that soil is pretty hot if they are seedlings 14 - 16 - 16 this soil is geared up for veg and or flower.
So how old or what stag are the plants.

And did you get the feeding schedule for the nutrients ?

these plants are 9 days now from sprout.
and yes i got the feeding schedule from here.

one of the nutrients if meant for the first two weeks.
Anyway my point is, if these nutrients would help accelerate the seedling stage as these last 2 days i have not seen any growth.

Its been 5 days now since any growth above ground is that normal? do you think they are still developing roots or something is wrong.
here are some pictures from today.

Probably. Wouldn’t be concerned yet, just don’t over water.

I wouldn’t feed them anything as @garrigan62 mentioned the soil is hot and has Time release nutrients in it so the more water you use the more nutrients that will be released
As mentioned try not to over water
Also the pits are pretty big for those seedlings and they will try to fillout the root zone up and I suspect that why your not seeing much growth above soil
